I am just curious why are people using TLA. I registered there few months ago, but I wasn’t able to earn reasonable amount with it. After 3 weeks I decided to give up my TLA account. With earnings at about $11 per month (for 1 link) I had nothing to but laugh. This is really pathetic.

I earn such amount in approximately 12 hours with adsense…

I am sure that webmasters with normal traffic (starting at 500 unique visits per day) and with CPM ads (or offering their own services, shopping carts, etc.) on their websites can’t be interested in TLA. Unlike webmasters who bought high pagerank links and got PR7+ and who have no real traffic, webmasters with quality sites can’t think about TLA at all… It is very questionable source of income.

I’m the developer of WP Text Ads, and the person quoted in this article

WP Text Ads is a plugin that lets WordPress bloggers sell directly to advertisers, so they pay no commissions.

It also uses the rel=”nofollow” attribute in links (can be turned off), so that Google will not penalise sites that sells ads.

That’s why I think it’s crucial that rel=”nofollow” are added to paid links, so that Google do not think the site is trying to boost it’s PR. I’ve added this attribute as a default option to WP Text Ads.
