I wrote this post for the sake of those who wants to increase their blog’s PR but don’t know yet how. I will not teach you all the techniques but just 1 technique on how to do it, that is by commenting to the blogs with “Do Follow” feature.
What is “Do Follow” Feature?
Google recently invented a tag that will tell their spiders not to follow the links. This is the “nofollow” tag. I call the “No Follow” tag as link-condom because it serves as filter. And now, this tag is already recognized by other search engines.
The link-condom is used in the link’s code as shown below:
<a href=”http://www.selaplana.com” rel=”nofollow“>SEL</a>
Everytime search engine’s spiders encounter the “nofollow” tag inside the <a> code, the spider then stops there. What I mean is that the spider will not follow the link published on certain webpage. Thus the link is not counted by the search engine as valid link.
Wordpress and Blogger blogs are using the link-condom in default. Those Wordpress blogs that installed the “Do Follow” plugin, automatically remove the “nofollow” tags from the <a> codes at the comment, which means that the links published through the comment section of a blog will be counted by the search engines’ spiders. Thus, the spiders will follow those links.
Blogs with Do Follow Features
Since most of the bloggers are looking for ways to increase the commentators on their blogs, they now consider removing the “nofollow” tag (link-condom) from the comment section of their blogs. This is to encourage their readers to drop comments about their posts.
Usually, blogs with “Do Follow” features display a logo on their blog’s sidebar to tell their visitors about it. Displaying this logo is like telling the visitors, “hey! please drop your comments on this blog and your links will be followed by search engines’ spiders“.
Look for the “Do Follow” Blogs
So, what you need to do is to look for blogs with the “Do Follow” feature. Read their post, think of ideas to share that is related to the post and drop it as the comment of that post. The more blogs you commented, the more links you’ll be harvested.
Anyway, Court has created a list of “Do Follow” blogs. Visit it here and visit those blogs and drop comments to them.
Note This!
I am telling you this easiest way of gaining PR for your blog, but you need to make your comments relevant to the post so that the blogger behind those blogs will not delete your comment.
Most of the bloggers behind the “Do Follow” blogs moderate all the comments by themselves. They read the comments and decide whether to delete those comments posted or not to delete.
How To Make the Comment legitimate?
Here how to make your comments relevant to the post and look like legitimate:
- Your comment should be longer. Most spammy comments only have 1 line. So to avoid recognizing your comment as spam, make it 3 or more lines.
- The idea of your comment should be related to the post you are commenting. Avoid the spammy comments like, “hi! nice blog”, “I will visit your blog always” or anything like these.
- Don’t include URL on your comments. It will only cause your comment to be deleted.

what I mean is don’t embed any URL in your comment or message. but you can enter the URL at the URL field.
