Is your notebook computer made by Toshiba? If so, this is to inform you that Toshiba recalls notebook battery that are made of lithium-ion that contain Sony cells. The manufacturer of this battery is the Sony Energy Devices Corp. of Japan. These batteries are said to be prone to overheat posing fire hazard to users. For more details visit this page.

But I think, this will also serve as warning to all users of cellphones that use similar battery. Remember that there was a report via the ABS-CBN that the battery of an N95 phone exploded.

    OMG!

Most of the notebooks in our office are Toshiba. And my current unit is really bothering me. I had the battery replaced, yet I don’t get an hour from it.

Thanks for this info, Sel. Very helpful. Btw, I hope you don’t mind but I just made a new post on How to Write a Better Post and your readers might be interested.

    Thanks again,
