I meet an old friend from Surigao del Sur last Saturday, August 18, 2007, as I went to the Gaisano Metro’s (Cebu City) internet cafe found at the Food Court. And she immediately noticed my body.
Well. Currently, my weight is 95kg at 5’7” height. With that stat, I think, you can now figure how big I am now.
Now, take a look at the photo below. That’s taken during the “One Voice Chorale Competition (Elimination) – 2003” and I was part of the Central Choir.
During that time, I was still a part-time blogger, and is popular as the “Ka Webspy“. My body weight was still at 55 kg since that time until January 2006.
Blogging will make you fat
January 2006? Well, I started blogging full-time on this month. I lost my cafe business on early days of that month, and went home (in Southern Leyte) and started utilizing my whole time in blogging. I started gaining few kilograms during my few months of full-time blogging. However, after 1 and 1/2 years my weights became more heavier.
What are the factors that help me gain more weights? There are many reasons why I grow bigger like this, but these reasons are all related to my activities as a full-time blogger.
(1) Wealth
Full-time blogging makes me more wealthier compared to when I was blogging in part-time. In other words, I can now afford to buy foods that I want to eat, and I can even eat more than the normal number of meals.
(2) Food
During my online job, I usually eat biscuits, crackers or any junk foods and partnered with Mango shake. My favorite food for lunch is the Burger Steak from Jollibee with Nestea Icetea. I usually eat my dinner at Makduko-Duko (Maasin City Jeep and Bus Terminal) with chicken or pork bbq with 500ml “Mountain Dew” softdrink.
(3) Exercise
Pressures on my blogging job leads me to miss my daily exercise. I almost spend my whole time in front of the computer surfing the internet, reading online articles, writing articles and even playing online and network games.
I sometimes spend two hours breeze walking, or sometimes swimming at the Sogod bay. But most of my time are spent using the 1% of my body’s muscles.
Be Rich and Healthy
I am telling you what I did not to let you do what I did. I just want you to learn lessons from it.
I know that time will come that you’ll become rich by just blogging, but make sure that you also grow more healthier. Remember that the more healthier you are in your younger days, the more years you’ll spend in your life time.

dude, 95kg at 5′7″?! You are bigger than me (and I find myself huge at 85kg!
But that’s ok if you’re rich by blogging… I’m not.

whoa! Well, getting fat by being a full time blogger is normal. The only physical exercise you get is when you type an article and go to the bathroom to pee.

Perhaps there are some exceptions on this. If you’re a blogger that writes articles about health and fitness (lol).
But S.E. Laplana at 97 kg. that’s quite worrying mate. I think you need to make some revisions on your lifestyle. With what you have mentioned above you’re putting yourself at risk on a variey of health conditions. Let me tell you a couple of issues that are more serious and requires expensive management if neglected. Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia (high fat) all may lead to Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction). You are obviously classed as obese and therefore at risk of Type 2 Diabetes, which is another factor for developing various heart problems. If you happen to have a family history of heart disease then you may potentially increase your risk. Just a reminder mate.
