You might be thinking that participating a writing contest like what Ms. Janette Toral has organized will not bring any good thing to your blog. Well… I will tell you that you’re wrong, because the truth is, there are tons of good things that your blog might gain if you’ll participate a contest like this. I will give you some of these good things:
- Search Engines Ranking. You can do a lot of tricks so that you will win the top slots on the Search Engines Results pages. Just recently, I noticed that my entry to the Filipina Writing Contest is now ranked at the 11th page of Google SERP when searching for “FILIPINA“. Read more about it here.
- Backlinks. Contest organized by Ms Toral usually ends up with an eyeball party. So, if you actively participated the contest and its eyeball, then I’m sure that you’ll be gaining more blogger-friends which also means more backlinks. Why? Well, it’s because most of the bloggers you meet during eyeball will mention you at their posts and of course establishing links from their blogs to your blog.
- Traffic. Ms Toral is constantly updating her W3O blog (the host of this contest) and listing participants of the said writing contest. While bloggers who participated the contest check those participating blogs, then additional traffic will be sent to your blog.
- Feed Readers and Regular Visitors. This kind of contest is one of the ways in exposing your blog to other bloggers and readers. Participating it is free. You don’t need to pay something but just write a post about Filipina. However, links from Ms. Toral’s blogs and from the blogs of other participants are already considered as advertisement for your blog that usually redirect traffic into your blog. And if your blog contains contents that will interest the redirected visitors, then I’m sure, part of that traffic will become your regular visitors and/or feed readers. I mentioned about it already on my post, “The Effect in Participating Filipina Writing Contest.“
These 4 points listed above are all about your blog. But these are not the only things that you might gain in participating from the said writing contest because you’ll be gaining more not only for your blog but for your name or self too. Two of these are:
- Popularity. I’m sure that you’re already popular to the those who frequently visited your blog. But you’re not known to those bloggers who haven’t visited yet your blog, isn’t it? The links and mentioning of your name at Ms. Toral’s blog is already a great help for you to gain more popularity, especially if you win prizes from this contest.
- Wealth. If you win one of the prizes prepared by Ms Toral and the sponsors of this contest, then you’ll be gaining more wealth as additional to the wealth you gained through your making money scheme on your blog.
Well, you still have time to write something about Filipina. Visit the instruction page to learn how to participate the contest, and then…. enjoy the advantages in participating it.
