After I published my post on reaching the 500 mark of this blog’s feed subscribers, one of our visitors emailed me this:

It is very much inspiring to know that a blogger like you who was called by other Filipino bloggers as idiot or dumb successfully reached the 500 mark of feed subscribers and more or less 1500 viewers per day. I really wonder if I can make a blog like that.

My question is related to what you said that some of your feed subscribers are coming from the viewers who viewed non-relevant contents of your blog. How did you know about it? …

700 Feed Subscribers

Last September 23, 2007, I told you that this blog hit already the 500 mark of Feed Subscribers through my post, “Feed Subscriber Marks 500.” And in just 7 days after publishing that post, our blog again reached the 700+ mark of feed subscribers. This success is really amazing. I just can hardly believe that I already got the expected number of feed subscribers (and more) that should be hit for the late October 2007.

Well, it’s not yet stable, because I know it will again dropped after several days, but at least I already hit that mark and there’s still big possibility that by late October 2007, I will be again hitting the 600 mark of the number of subscribers.

Let’s consider the latest graph of feed subscribers as provided by the Feed Burner.

Now, just like what you’ve seen on that graph, the number of the feed subscribers of this blog is steadily climbing. The latest subscribers are 728. I wonder what’s the reason why the yesterday’s subscribers has dropped to 160. Well, what ever the reason is, it’s just fine for me at least the number has climbed back to 700+.

MyBlogLog record the clicks

So, to answer the question: “My question is related to what you said that some of your feed subscribers are coming from the viewers who viewed non-relevant contents of your blog. How did you know about it?” … I just want to say that MyBlogLog records all the clicks on my blog.

Consider the latest stats showed as recorded by the MyBlogLog, and then take note of the highlighted part of it:

According to that stats, there are 275 users who clicked the Feedburner – email subscribe button. And if you’ll view the record of where those clickers are coming from by clicking the VIEW link, you’ll see this one:

For example, we got 13 users who click the email-subscribe button at our homepage.

Actually, there are tons of service providers similar to mybloglog that are available online. But mybloglog’s way of presenting data got my interest especially that I am always checking the stats of this blog to figure out how this blog works.

The Lesson

While looking at the feed burner – email subscribers stats and where these subscribers are coming from, an idea pop-out of my head on how to gain more subscribers. I already suggested a tip on how to gain subscribers on my previous post, and again I will be implementing another way of gaining more subscribers. I just don’t know if some of you consider it an evil way but I think, it’s effective. I will reveal it to you on my next post about our blog’s feed subscribers.
