In my post, “Should You Afraid of Having High Traffic Blog?“, I mentioned that I got $400+ blog-earning from Adsense alone. The amount is not really big compared to what John Chow earned when he was still publishing Adsense ads at his blog.

However, I was planning to follow what John Chow did with the adsense ads on his blog. $400 earning per month is already a good earning, but I believe that I can earn much if I will sell the space occupied by the Adsense ads to direct advertisers in the sense that the payment sent by direct advertisers will be received by me without the cuts made by third party brokers.

Have you read John Chow’s income report for the month of September 2007? Reading the report, made me realize that it is really possible to earn much when selling ad space personally without the aid of the third party services. Consider this data on John Chow’s earning:

* Private Ad Sales: $7670.00
* Affiliate Commissions: $7,244.94
* Text Link Ads: $2,047.23
* ReviewMe: $2,000.00
* Kontera: $1,000.00
* AuctionAds: $500.00
* Subscriptions: $50.00
* Grand Total: $20,512.17

That Private Ad Sales income is the one he earns selling the ad space occupied before by the Adsense ads. Based on my knowledge, John Chow earned more or less $1,000 only from Adsense when he was still publishing adsense ads. It’s likely 700% lower compared to his Private Ad Sales for the month of September 2007.

However, my problem now is when will be the right time to start selling personally the space occupied by the adsense ads?

Maybe, now is the right time to sell those ad spaces. However, it is much better if my blog should reach first the number of daily visitors of 5,000 before selling those ad spaces. This is to make sure that advertisers will really gain traffic from the ads they displayed on this blog.
