It was on October 25, 2007 when I noticed the report of Google at my Adsense account that the payment for my adsense earning was being processed already. By the next day, I checked my account, particularly the payment history, if the status of the payment had changed, but found out that what was reported was still the payment was being processed.
I thought at first that this will only change once I already got the money through the Western Union. So I immediately went to the nearest Western Union agent and tried to pick the money up. The teller at the Western Union agent then told me that I need to bring with me the control number of the money transfer because this is the one that they need to search for the money transfer transaction. Because of this, I realized that the said payment by Google via the Western Union Quick Cash is not yet verified. I still need to wait for the time that Google will tell me the payment information.
To let you know, this was my first time to receive my adsense earning via the Western Union. So, I am quite excited to pic my earning up.
Now, I think, Google is very much late in posting the information about the payment. Google posted it only this November 1, 2007 with the following information:
And Google reminded me to bring the following when picking up my earning via the Western Union Quick Cash:
- The amount of your payment
- The Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for this payment
- Your government issued ID (Passport, Driver’s License, National ID, etc)
- Sender’s information: (Blah blah blah blah)
Well, at least Google deducted nothing from my adsense earning for the Western Union charges.

Google’s Western Union payment method is really helpful. No need to wait for so long, no worries for missing checks.

I encashed mine at BPI. Processed time is 30 minutes. I saved $24 (P1,000+) for DHL charge.

I am just glad I receive direct payments to my bank account, I am not sure being based outside the US I could wait for the payment to come through, I would get a little bored :). It is great you got it sorted at the end though

I think all Adsense publishers, including me, got the Western Union details also on November 1. I saw the details in my account on November 1, Philippine time, then withdrew it from WU the next day.
Here’s my experience: Successfully $1k Adsense earnings from Western Union
WU remains to be the best Adsense payment for me, at least for now.
