We recently experience the mess-up brought by the Tropical Storm, “Lando” and tons of homes were left damaged by the strong wind that hit us here in Southern Leyte for almost 4 hours. Everybody here are cleaning up the mess while I’m here cleaning up my blog.

I know, you’ve already noticed some changes I made on this blog. Several items were already removed and some others are added.

Before, you can still check the traffic stats of this blog because I put a Bravenet traffic counter at my sidebar, but now I already removed it.

Before, you can see what’s the rank of my blog on some ranking sites because I put some ranking buttons at the sidebar. These buttons really made me proud especially if the buttons say that my blog is ranked 1 or 2. But after thinking about it for several times, I finally decided to remove them from the sidebar.

Before, you can see a tall ad from the AdBrite. I earn a lot from that ad. But just like what the other bloggers said, it only made my blog look so bad. That’s why I removed it from the sidebar.

Tons of changes that I made on this blog. And I think, this blog is now looked so clean.

What’s the reason of cleaning up the blog?

You might wonder why I am doing this. Well, the very reason of it is to make my blog look very professional.

My skill in writing or blogging is not yet good and I still don’t consider my self professional. I am practicing as professional blogger but the truth is, I am still an amateur.

However, cleaning up this blog and making it look professional is a good way to start thinking like a real professional one. Remember that:

• A traffic stat counter which displays big numbers made the visitors think that the blogger behind that blog is still a kid who wants to impress his friends and visitors about the stats. Professional one do impress his visitors and his friends but not through the stat counter with big number but through the content and way of writing on his every blogpost. It’s not the readers who are not actually interested with the traffic stats but the advertisers.
• Blog Ranking buttons and other rating buttons displayed on the sidebar tell its visitors that the blogger behind that blog is just a newbie who are just thinking of getting the top rank of that ranking sites. To let you know, it’s not our blog that enjoy the advantage of displaying up that ranking buttons on our blog but it’s the ranking sites themselves.
• Ads of different ad network displayed on your blog make your blog looks bad and let other bloggers think that you are desperate enough in your making money online activities. And one more note, Google hates bloggers who tried to manipulate Google’s PR rating by buying links. Just recently, tons of PayPerPost blogs were penalized by Google by taking our their PRs.

Now, that my blog looks better than what it was before, my next move is to enhance my blogging style and make it more professional.
