Your comments, suggestions and criticism really helps me.

Other bloggers and visitors of this blog called me “idiot” just because most of my posts have errors in grammar. I mentioned a lot of times about this before in my posts like:

Just like what I said before, I really tried hard to write posts with correct grammar, but my knowledge in English is very limited. But at least by blogging I gained a little progress on the way I write articles in English, with the help of your criticism.

So, with this, I want to thank you for telling me all my weaknesses in writing. I really appreciate if you will tell me more about it.

Just recently, I received an email from G.S. which goes:

… Kindly double check if not, triple check your usage of the English grammar before posting your blog. And your choices of words too. Since you tend to write in English all your thoughts (and experiences) in Filipino thereby translating a concept, an idea, a phrase too literally to a point.

Moreover, it has been increasingly annoying and to a point disgusting, your excessive lapses in the use of the English grammar. One or two lapses every now and then but not too often is very much acceptable these days. But to have noticeable grammar mistakes all over your blogs every time, just like the copy that has been posted and sent to me below, is already bordering on throwing all English grammar books out of the window.

In addition, your topics are great although it lacks a sort of sequence. Since you obviously post any topic that comes up to your head without really giving it a serious thought before you even start writing about it. Toward this, may I suggest that you draft a long list of topics that you wish to write (blog) about and try to organize it into a theme or at least a sequence. That way, your readers can have a feel of what your next topic will be and hopefully, interact with you or wait with much anticipation your next blog. Targeting a particular “demographics” of readers may also help you choose the topics to blog about and the manner, tone and style by which your blog is to be carried out. …

I posted part of the email here because there’re tons of points that you’ll learn from this like:

  • Read, read, read your article for several times before publishing them.
  • Check your grammar and usage of words
  • If your blog has no particular niche then try to draft the long list of topics and organize them into a theme or sequence of related topics.

However, I want to remind you too not to be embarrassed or offended if you are the ones who receive email like this, but be thankful. That’s how I trait it, that’s why I am still here blogging. Read my post, “Be Positive on the Negative Things They Throw at You“.

Marami naman talaga ang hindi gaanong gamay ang English. Even those people who use this as their national language eh sumasablay rin sa grammar. Basta kasi nagkakaintindihan sila, okey na yon…Wala namang perfect na tao diba? Pero, xiempre, anjan pa rin ang mga negative criticisms…Lahat naman ng tao, nakakatanggap nun…But, I really like the way you act on those criticisms…Yes, we should not let these criticisms destroy us and our relationship with others…Let’s consider them as our stepping stones in order for us to improve ourselves…

Simple lang yan. Kung hindi katanggap-tanggap sa kanya ang mga isinusulat mo, e di huwag siyang magbasa.

ok lang naman magbigay ng payo. huwag lang sa pamamaraang may pagka-arogante.
