I found this blog down for 2 or 3 days due to database error. I think Jason is right. Handling such a impressive traffic needs a dedicated server to handle. The downside however is the cost that will bloat to at least 1200%. But if the site is well compensated, I think $120 or so taken from $1000 of monthly income is a wise move. The other thing is, dedicated server will open lot of opportunities to your online experience.

This is why you should purchase a dedicated server and host your own sites on them. I have server hosted with Server Intellect and I resell space on my server to friends and family to offset the price of a dedicated server. Because it is manged I don’t have to worry to much about critical updates keep the box running perfect, they help me. Also if you do get hammered by digg, because your on a dedicated server your bandwidth and server will be able to handle the massive amount of traffic. No need to worry about your host shutting you down because your site is causing a resource issues to other clients.

I am currently hosted by http://webhostingbuzz.com. They provide a huge space of 300 GB with decent bandwidth limit.However, I also experience suspension (twice already) because of CPU resource abuse. My site gets around 1000 visitors per day or more and most hosts I inquire to suggests that I switch to a semi dedicated server or a VPS. But my host was kind enough to upgrade my site to a high-resource server for free. But I think this will only be for the time being. I know that I have to get a VPS so I can no longer experience site suspension.

I am using foreign webhosting. Maybe filipino web hosting companies can learn from their foreign counterparts too. Its all about value added services. I am using iPower (which according to bendz – sucks, hehe). Bendz, kalit man ug kusog ang loading sa iPower. kantyawan man gud nimo.

My blog is using iPower but I am planning to transfer it to Bluehost soon (already purchased a webhosting account too). Di ko lang kasi maisip, hirap pala mag transfer ng domain lalo na blog.

I suggest ixWebhosting.com.. It’s a foreign host but you can always chat to the customer service anytime you want.. Besides, the hosting is cheap (considering it’s one of the top 10 hosts worldwide..).. I also got some problems with them but their too swift to response whenever I raise the errors through chat..
