Commenting and Moderating Blog Comments
Maybe I am not active already in commenting to other blogs. It’s not because I am not interested in commenting other blogs. Of course I know the advantages of dropping comments to other blogs. That’s the reason why I wrote some tips related to commenting .
Well, It just happened that my time was spent fixing the problems of my blogs and modifying the themes of the blogs under my Ka Webspy Network. But actually, it should not disturb my blog-hopping and commenting activities. I think, I only missed my time management.
Comment Moderation
Now, I want to suggest to all bloggers who have their own blogs. If possible, let the comments posted by your blog’s commentator to show immediately soon as the commentator clicked that POST-COMMENT button.
You know, I am really disappointed everytime I visit a blog, write a comment but then when I clicked the POST-COMMENT button, nothing showed up, not even a message telling me that my comment needs to be moderated first before it will show up on the blog.
You see, you want us to visit your blog and interact on your posts, but then you’re pissing us off by holding our comments for moderation even if our comments do no contain any malicious terms or spammy URL.
Well, I am not saying that you should not moderate the comments dropped by your blog’s commentator. But you can do it in other ways.
Consider this blog as an example. I am actually moderating every comments posted on this blog, especially those captured by Wordpress for moderation. But at least all the comments posted that do not violate the preference or settings I set on the Wordpress option for comments, are immediately posted. This is actually a simple way of thanking commentators and welcoming them. Anyway, you can delete comments if you think those comments are not meant to be shown.
Update:
Pinoy united told us that responding to comments is one of the best ways in networking with fellow bloggers. And I agree with that. You can respond comments by posting your reply on a particular comments or you can just write post and talk about a particular comments, just like what I am doing now.

hmmm.. i’m a little bit guilty on your post..
I’ll take your advise and we’ll see..
Anyway, thanks sa comment, I’ll do that too! Secret ko muna yung keywords na ‘hourse’.. hahaha
I agree with this post. I am a little bit disappointed too whenever I don’t see my comment after I click the post button. It takes away the sense of interaction between the reader and the author.
ANd also, it misses a lot of potential visitors to click your link to your blog…LOL…
I agree with this post. I now goes with a saying ” you comment I follow ” although I am also commenting even some blog do not comment on mine..
, and then later on I can see them commenting on mine also.
Commenting reminds blog owner the existence of your blog. specially if they are not subscribed to your rss
Pretty good analysis of comments and moderation. Nice thought has went behind it along side of the real experience and juggling between time and commitments. I personally feel that moderation in fact help me feel assured that my comment will be read and may ( if required) will be considered. Otherwise it is like writing on wall where anybody can write anything and move on.
Cool…Thanks,
i have neglected my commenters lately. but i’ll go back to where i started.
I moderate the first comment of a new visitor to my blog simply because for some security measures as well. Sure you heard about blogs went down due to receiving 20K to 30K comments. Though I’m newbie at such (and not pretty sure if getting bombarded with spam comments that won’t get detected my akismet or other spam control plugins would really break your site), I’d better be cautious. Perhaps the visitors would understand.
Great blog! It’s always so nice to be inspired
I think its important to moderat comments! It gives the ability to filter spam!
