antiplo, yup, domino effect.. good thing, now, there are words of caution from other bloggers whose sites droped in PR cause of sponsored posts... so the blogger would know which to prioritize, the PR or the "paid post" income.

Perhaps the sites that link to you experienced drops in their PR, because the sites that link to them also... well, you get the picture.

If you want better control over your PR, build a network of useful blogs that send one-way links to high PR pages (i.e., Squidoo, Hubpages) that promote SELaplana.com

using rel=NOFOLLOW tags in links doesn't guarantee that your blog will be safe from google spank, though it works on some of my blog.

Hi,

the drop in PR could basically be either a change in Google's algorithm, or (as you said it) that other sites previously linking to yours have decided to use NOFOLLOW in order to conserve their own PR.

Google doesn't ban you to sell links. It's okay to advertise. But if you do so, then you must use rel=NOFOLLOW to those people advertising to avoid any penalty. Of course, that wouldn't sound too good for your advertisers, but if you do so you should make them aware of the terms.

I find that aiming after good SERPs is a more rewarding thing than chasing after PR, I've seen sites with not-so-high PR rank among the top for competitive keywords. That means much and brings a good amount of traffic.

The key is getting strong inbound links that are relevant to your niche and providing quality content that others would want to link to (there's a lot of that here in your blog, many thanks).

Best regards,
Oliver
