Importance of Financial Education

When my wife and I attended the pre-marriage seminar of the Iglesia ni Cristo, one of the lessons taught to us is to be wise financially. It was even made clear that to be wise financially means, we should spend less than the income we earn.

However, for you to be wise financially, you also need to know few things about finance.  It’s your financial education that will guide how to manage, spend or organize your money in different areas. It will help you understand the principles behind savings, expenditures, liabilities, investment, and other important aspects in finance.

Those who seriously took their high school and college education already learned a lot of things about finance because financial education is being taught to the students as one of the basic courses that they need to take up. And the knowledge they got about finance serves us their foundation in the management of their money. But of course, it takes more practice to learn lots of techniques and lessons on how to effectively manage your finances.

So, after the seminar, I realized that I should start practicing the lessons I learned about financial education for me to effectively manage my money.
