Reaching viewership ratings of over 30% in Korea, East of Eden tells a sweeping saga spanning from 1960 to 2000 about the bitter rivalry between two men bound by the cruel turns of fate. After witnessing his father’s death as a teenager, Lee Dong Chul (Song Seung Heon) grows up in the shadows, vowing to get revenge on his father’s murderer. Pulled into the underworld at a young age, Dong Chul rises the ranks of the mob hoping to one day reach his enemy, Shin Tae Hwan (Jo Min Ki), a cold and ruthless businessman whose path to wealth is lined with blood. Dong Chul’s greatest pride in life is his younger brother Dong Wook (Yeon Jung Hoon), who overcomes great hardships to become a kind, upstanding prosecutor. But unbeknownst to everyone, Dong Wook and Shin Tae Hwan’s son Myung Hun (Park Hae Jin, By Land and Sky) were actually switched at birth. When the truth comes out, all lives and loyalties are upturned.
