Now that you already have your own webhost and domain, and you also have decided what to write about at your blog, you’re now ready to start a blog. But first we need to install the blogging platform or the software that will handle your blog and your blogging activities.

Why should I install blogging platform into my server?

To let you know, when I started writing my online journal in 1999, I was not using any content management software or script where I would write, edit, and publish my journals. There might be any content management scripts available at that time, but no one told me about it. So, what I did was to write the html codes of every page of my website.

Now that we already have lots of blogging platform available, what you need to do is just to install the script into your server and customize everything. After that, you can just write the article, edit it, and then in just one click your article is already published. By using this kind of content management software (or script) you can actually publish even more than a hundreds of articles in a day.

But just like what I already mentioned, there are lots of blogging platforms or blog content management scripts available today. And you need only one blogging platform to use for your blog.

You can actually choose what to use by your own using your own preferences but I just want to help you start a blog that could be your money maker in the future. I don’t want you to start a blog using a blogging platform of your choice which would only led you to failure. Remember that the process of changing platforms is very complicated and the worse thing is you’ll just be wasting your time configuring your blog.

So, what should I use as the content management script for my blog?

Okay. I suggest you use the Wordpress.

Wordpress actually has become the standard blogging platform. Wordpress is:

If your CPanel doesn’t have Fantastico, what you need to do is to download the latest version of it from the Wordress.Org, and then unpacked it into your computer’s hardisk, then use FTP in uploading all the files into your server.
• Easy to update. The Wordpress development team is very much active. From time to time, they’re updating the software making sure that the Wordpress will be hacker free and bug free blogging script.

• Easy to customize. The Wordpress is using a template for the design of your blog. So, the design of your blog is actually based on few template files. Thus, giving you an easy way to edit the design or by changing it using the available Wordpress design template created and made available by other Wordpress users.

And of course, because of the features I mentioned above, a Wordpress blog is really very easy to optimize for the search engine so that your blog will be gaining huge amount of traffic from the internet searches, and optimize if for your advertising campaigns so that you’ll earn money from it.
