How to Identify Survey Scam Sites?

Making Money with Survey

One of the ways that internet users make money online is by answering the questionnaire sent to them by the survey websites or by other online survey services. Some bloggers who failed to make money online by blogging tried the “paid survey” scheme in hopes of making enough money in the internet.

However, there are many internet users who landed into the “paid survey” websites that looked like legitimate but actually scam-survey websites. But we couldn’t blamed those victim of the “paid survey” scam websites because what you can read on these kind of websites are very much enticing, just like the snippet below that I copied from one of the “Paid Survey” websites I found:

Make $1,000 per month by simply taking survey at home!

“Imagine waking up, logging on, filling out a few online paid surveys in your pajamas, and getting paid at the end of the month! My friends could not believe how easy it was until they saw my paychecks. Now most of them are doing it!”

This has to be one of the easiest and most convenient ways of making money. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home, you don’t have to learn to do anything new, you just have to give your opinion.

To earn huge money easily and quickly is the thing that these websites offer to internet users. And who among you who don’t want to get rich quickly? It’s a thing that every body is looking for. So, no wonder there are lots of people who get fooled by scammers.

Are there any Legitimate Survey Websites?

Usually, internet users differentiate legitimate survey website to that of the scammers by simply examining if a survey site really pays their members or not for taking the survey.

If we will use that way as the standard in identifying whether a survey site is a scam or not, then we can say that there are lots of legitimate survey websites in the internet, because it is true that there are really websites that pay their members for taking survey.

However, if you will follow my way of thinking then you can say that only small percent of the total number of survey websites are legitimate.

Why are you thinking like that?

For your information, almost all the survey websites you found in the internet are created just for the owners to make money from you.

Some websites make money from you by letting you join other survey websites. What I mean is that the owner of these websites are paid by companies in every users they successfully referred to join.

Other websites make money from you by requiring you to pay them a fee as you sign-up an account.

These owners of these websites are not concern whether you will earn money by taking surveys as long as they will earn money from you.

How can you identify Scammer’s Survey Website?

Actually, there are two types of Scammer’s Survey Website I found in the internet: (1) Free to Survey Websites; (2) Pay to Survey Websites.

(1) FREE TO SURVEY SCAM WEBSITES

Free to survey websites are open to all who are interested to earn money by taking surveys. Those who will sign-up an account are not required to pay for a certain fee.

In other words, if you want to make money by taking surveys, what you need to do is just sign-up an account and start answering the questions asked on the survey.

Usually, you’ll receive $5 to $10 bonus after successfully signing-up an account and you’ll earn $1 to $3 per survey you take.

Most of this kind of website will send you 5 surveys in your first day. However, after that you’ll only have 1 survey per month and you’ll earn $1/survey.

Now, what makes me consider this a scam?

These websites really pay you for what you earned. But the problem is, the minimum payout is $75 or higher.

Now, let’s say you earned $10 as bonus when you sign-up an account, then you took 5 surveys which are $2 each. So, in that day alone, you earn $20.

The next round of survey will be sent you next month, and on the following months. In 5 months of taking survey, since there is only 1 survey available per month, so you only earn $5. All in all in 5 months, you earn $25. And with that amount, you still couldn’t request for payment since the minimum payout is $75.

What if you failed to login for 3 consecutive months? According to the TOS of these kind of websites, your membership will be canceled if you failed to login for 3 consecutive months and then all your earning will be forfeited. Thus losing all the prize of your hardwork.

(2) PAY TO SURVEY SCAM WEBSITES

If you’ll search the internet for survey websites you’ll find a lot of “Pay to Survey” websites. These kind of websites are not actually a website where you will receive survey to take and you’ll earn money by taking those surveys. What these websites have are the list of other survey websites.

Basically, people are enticed to join a survey website because of what has been promised that everybody will earn money by taking surveys. But before you finally became member of these website, you need to pay first the membership fee or entrance fee which ranges from $20 to $50.

After paying them the fees, you are now excited to start taking survey, right? However, it would never happened if you’ll not follow more instructions from them. They would instruct you to join each of the survey websites on the list they give you.

At first, they will give you a list of 20 to 50 survey websites that you need to join before taking the real survey. On the next day, they would offer you another set of 20 to 50 survey websites, but you’ll receive this list only if you’ll pay them for a certain amount.

In other words, people behind this kind of website will just milk your money from you by fooling you to pay them in exchange of those lists of other survey websites.

Still Want to Take the Risk?

After reading this article, I wonder if you still wanted to try to earn money from surveys.

You better start blogging now and make money from it just like how I find my way of living.

  1. and i think most of the survey sites that are scams are using spamming method that overcrowds our emails…which i must say is so irritating!

I like to share my idea on this. Survey online is now getting famous and being participated by many big organizations sch as Nike, Starbucks, Universities, car company, food company, HP and many mores. The most important reason is this is the bets way to reach more peoples at low cost. Instead of paying big money to outsource to consultants, yhey opt this method. Instead of make a phone call, or walking the street looking for participant, online survey is the best way to gather information.

BUT, there are many SCAM site nowadays. As i stressed in my article within my blog, you can identify them by screening them on certain basis. One of them is their contact numbers, the offer, how long does that site exist and many more. You can get in detail from my blog. But i’m personally having myself join them and there are proven paid. But, please make yourself enough study to differentiate legit and scam site first.

  5. Tony says:

Yep, slick survey sites that ask for an upfront fee are still be produced.

First rule I learned was: don’t pay a dime to join. They’ll (survey groups) only give you access to duff info.

    Tony.
