I am new to blogging. I understand that the effect of the SEO will not be immediately felt. So, in the first days, perhaps months, my blog will still be wondering who will visit it.

Is there a way or two that my blog can get visitors immediately even if it is new?

Getting Visitors for a New Blog

When I started this blog, “SELaplana“,  last March 6, 2006, I was also wondering how could I get visitors. It’s because I knew that the effect of the SEO techniques I applied into this blog would be felt after few days if not, after few months.

For the first few days of the existence of this blog, I experimented everything that I thought would get traffic for the blog. And 9 of those ways were included in my article, “9 ways of getting visitors to your blog“. But those 9 ways I mentioned in that article could be done only online. I also did promoted the blog offline.

However, there are other ways in getting traffic for your new blog that are not included in those articles. You can also try the following:

Promote your blog at Facebook.

Facebook is now number 1 among the social networking websites. So, take advantage of its popularity.

Create your own facebook account. Add those people whom you know… bloggers, friends, relatives, celebrities, etc. … and interact with them.

In order for you to promote your blog to them, just post updates on what you are doing. For example, after you successfully published article into your blog, post an update in your facebook account telling all your connected friends that you have published article into your blog with link to it.

Actually, there are lots ways on how to take advantage of your facebook account. Just do your own experiment.

Promote your blog at Friendster

If Facebook is number 1 Social Networking websites in the world, Friendster is also the number 1 social networking websites in Asia.

The features of Friendster are not as good as that of the Facebook, but there are still ways on how to take advantage of it.

If you already have your own Friendster account, then just make sure that you are connected to hundreds of friends for it (hunting for blog’s visitors) to become effective.

First you can tell your friendster profile visitors that you are online through your blog. And you can also tell your friendster friends that you have published article into your blog by posting announcement at the bulletin or at the blog section of the friendster.

And not only that, I know that there are still other ways on how to get visitors into your blog through your friendster account. Just do an experiment.

Promote your blog at Twitter

Twitter is another blogging system. They call it micro-blogging. Almost all bloggers and marketers are using twitter to communicate with each other and to post updates on what’s they’re doing and anything.

Promoting your blog through your twitter account would be effective if you have lots of followers. By simply posting updates in your twitter telling that you published article into your blog with a link to it, your followers will receive it at their own twitter account. So, if they thought that your article is interisting , then they’ll visit your blog.
