Kicked Out from Project Wonderful
This blog is earning additional income through the Project Wonderful network. The 728×90 ad spot at the header, a 125×125 ad spot at the sidebar and another 728×90 ad spot at the bottom of this blog were made available for bidding through the Project Wonderful system.
I was enjoying the money that this blog got from the advertisers brought by the Project Wonderful for more than a year already. And I thought that I will be earning more money from it especially that I noticed that from time to time, advertisers were bidding for those spots on higher price per day.
But yesterday, I discovered that the Project Wonderful management disabled all the ad spots that I mentioned above because according to them, this blog violated the terms of the Project Wonderful.
Project Wonderful Terms and Policies
Before joining the Project Wonderful, I read first the terms and conditions of the program. I also checked the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in using the system. And from there I knew that my blog violated one the terms or the policies like:
- This one mainly applies to blogs. There are blogs which have accepted money in order to link certain products. This can take a few forms: “review posts” (usually with affiliate links), links to other sites through click-tracking relays, double-underlined links on keywords, and so on. We have found that such tactics are very anti-reader and cause any additional advertisements (i.e., ours) to perform very poorly. If you have such posts on your site, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to have you as a publisher.
- Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a site that is too difficult to navigate – or already is so plastered with ads that it’s hard to tell where the actual content is – is hard for both readers and advertisers, and is unlikely to be accepted. Furthermore, if your site already has pop-up ads, or ads that take up over the browser window (”pop-over ads”), we cannot accept your site. Such ads are very anti-reader and furthermore, obscure our own ads from being seen. It just wouldn’t work out!
You already know that this blog is publishing Kontera intext ads. And the keywords used by the Kontera system can be recognized by the double underline. I even applied the so-called “click-tracking relays”. And the most obvious thing is, the design of this blog is not really designed well and the blog is cluttered by different ads.
In other words, I knew from the beginning that this blog might be denied from the Project Wonderful sytem.
However, when I tried to add this blog into their system, they approved it and allowed me to publish ads of the Project Wonderful advertisers. And I was very much thankful for that.
But, the people behind the Project Wonderful have changed their mind. This blog is now banned from the Project Wonderful system.

I’m sad to hear that sir. But it is funny that they have accepted your blog even it possess stuff that they don’t want. This will be a lesson to all of us; read the policy before entering programs in the internet.
But I think you are not worrying that much, since this blog has many sources of income right? ehe.
yes… i am not worrying that much. but my income from project wonderful is already a good addition to my income from other sources.
actually, i spent that income in paying my online obligations like for my domains and webhosting account (other than ploghost).
Hi Sel,
1 or 2 months ago, I applied in the Project Wonderful ad network. I was denied given the same policy you mentioned (was using kontera then). The customer service was polite and I just respected their policy and did not pursue my application. Just curious, did they ask you to remove those text-link ads?
Personnel from the Project wonderful is polite enough in telling me that my blog violated their terms. So, they don’t have other options but to reject my blog from their system.
However, they did not told me to just remove those things that caused the violation. but I understand them if they’d penalize my blog because they have the right to do that especially that my blog really violated the terms of project wonderful.
Hi Sel. One of my site was not approved to be part of the system but the note I got is that such is not permanent and can be reviewed again.
I guess when you decide to remove your in-text ads, you can re-apply again.
maybe you’re right. If i’ll stripped off the ads the cluttered my blog, I think Project Wonderful will give me again a chance to use their service. But I just can’t do it because those ads are earning more money compared to the income from the Project Wonderful. so, i think, i have to sacrifice Project wonderful.
That’s too sad. Pero madami ka pa namang source of online income kaya ok lang un, hehe.. I’m also applying for projectwonderful. I hope maaprove nila ang site ko.
yeah you’re right…
anyway, wish your blog will be accepted into the Project Wonderful network.
ahh.. sayang. although you have other income sources, it would still be great if you have this project wonderful. kainis lang because they accepted you before and now, they changed their mind. good luck to the rest of your income sources.
sir, do you also have other offline sources of income?
Actually, my family is fully dependent on my online income. I have no other sources of income by my blogs alone.
mahina naman ang kita sa project wonderful kaya okey lang yan. kahit pa advertiser ka sa project wonderful eh ang hina pa rin ng return. ang taas ng binabayaran mo compared sa nakukuha mong visitors sa kanila.
actually, i am earning an average of $100 from the project wonderful per month. Ads related to making money online are those high bidders.
I also enrolled one of my old blogs before in project wonderful. But with just a few cents of earnings every month and an annoying ad on my blog, I decided to stop implementing project wonderful ads on my site. As of now, I am happy as for what adsense in bringing me although I’m just starting to blog on a professional level sticking to my niche on entrepreneurship, personal finance and investments.
your chosen niche is high CPC i think. i’m sure your blogs are bringing better income to you than mine to me.
sayang naman.. teka nag PR0 na yung site mo.. waaaaa! our prc site din naging PR0, weird no? ang sakit ng pr slap. wah!
oo nga e… ewan ko kung anong mali akong nagawa hehehe
you win some, you lose some. when i signed up for infolinks, some of my paid posts were rejected because of links that were not part of the opps. as of the moment, i cant decide which one to pursue since i am not yet getting any decent earnings from infolinks
i think my project wonderful ads might be affected by this also.
Too bad, Sel. Maybe you were making too much money off of them? :p
sel, too bad it happened. perhaps this is just part of the competition among ad sites. i really didn’t bother to check out PW as one source of online income. my sports site needs advertisers as its sole source of income is adsense. maybe i’ll try to look into PW one of these days. $10-$20 a month is better than nil.
I tried to use project wonderful in some of my sites before pero konti lang naman ang kita ko sa kanila so inalis ko nalang. I guess, being kicked out of project wonderful won’t really affect your online income afterall especially if you got chitika, adsense, etc..
My blog was also removed from project wonderful with the same reason as yours. Sobrang inis ko inalis ko n lang ads nila. After making my second payout request, saka nila sasabihing meron akong na violate sa rules nila.
too bad for you. But just join others program that can give you more money. No need to sad anymore.
they kicked me out too, AFTER I had earnings, which I lost. pretty nasty if you ask me, especially considering that they approved me while I obviously had kontera ads running.
Meh, project wonderful sucks anyway… the eCPM was terrible. I pretty much just used it to drive a little bit more traffic to my websites.
