Actually, what got my interest over the news about Ted Failon is the twist of the story.

At first it was told in the news that Ted accidentally killed his wife inside the car. Then the next few hours, it was again reported that Ted killed Trina inside their bedroom and transferred the dying body into the bathroom of their daughter. Then on the following days, the report was all about the overkill arrest.

Yup, it was Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda (I’d call it Minister of “Terror”) by the name of Josef Goebbels who said that “A lie told once remains a lie but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth…” Oh, attention to “Bendzg” over that.

If Ted Failon wasn’t the “Ted Failon” he is, most people wouldn’t probably give a damn. Media sensationalism – bull crap!

First of all, it’s an honor to get linked here.

Call it suicidal or desperate, opinions are molded by own experiences anyway. I’m just wondering why people who claims to be sure he is not guilty is praised rather than frowned on. Well, just a clear indication of the effect of the “repeated lie” theory.

It’s really amusing to hear (or read) people asking saying that we should wait for the results of the investigation and when it turns out to be different than what they believe, they always claim it’s biased. Just like election results haha.

Jumping to conclusions, by the way, is not that bad. Everybody in the blogosphere does it (the best bloggers mostly). Blogging is originally a journal of rants. Some may agree with your rant and some may don’t. All a blogger could do is present what’s on his mind, besides, it’s a personal blog. It should be about me, my opinion and not my readers (although SEO tactics are still employed).

I just think that if it’s ok for bloggers to bet their life on his innocence, then it should be ok for a blogger to express his belief in his guilt. I think what is not ok this time is for a blogger to present the story like they do it in the news, blunt and impersonal.

I enjoyed reading your response to the blog. Here in California in the Asian Channel, this news about TF is on everyday for the last 4 days(TV Patrol), so I am sort of tired hearing about it. Your kababayan is on shaky ground as regards his accusations against the media and Ted Failon. What he cited as evidence of media bias and Ted’s guilt can be taken in another light to show the opposite view just as you said.

I think we had better wait the conclusion of the official investigation of the case. Or better yet the result of an independent investigation if it comes to that since the air is thick with accusations and counter accusations. But to jump to conclusion at this stage? That I think is “suicidal” for a blogger. But then again maybe your kababayan has a good record on balancing on tightropes and can very well fend for himself. Just saying…

A minor point: It’s not Hitler himself who said it. If I recall it right, it’s his chief propagandist Joseph Goebbels who said the quote you cited.

I guess we would still have to wait for the final results of the investigation. We still cannot rule out the posibility of foul play and it is too early to tell.
