Sa akin VPS gamit ko. I would want kasi a root access so I can install wordpress blogs via tar.gz mas mabilis.

Plus I can tinker around the linux hosting server faster. Costs about $49 a month so may kamahalan din.

But the good part is it is way better than shared hosting.

If you’re self-hosted wordpress blog caters 4,000 unique visitors every day but then your shared server doesn’t experience downtime… maybe it’s still better to stay there to save money.

However, if you wordpress blog has 2,000 unique visitors every day but it always experiences downtimes…. so you have the option to transfer to other shared server that can handle your blog but it’s hard to find one. The best thing to do is to upgrade your hosting account to VPS.

Nice tips Sel! I am a noob in servers. May I ask, how many page views or probably unique visits per day should a blog use a VPN or Dedicated Server?

So you’re paying at least $50 per month for your server? That’s kinda expensive. I do think this blog is really earning a lot!

I was struck by your point, “The rule “u get what u pay for” is applied only in a small number of companies that provide web hosting and this is very sad. So be carefull when you choose a web hosting service!“. Just recently, I lost almost $700 to a webhost. I canceled my account from my former host, but i think I will not be refunded.

When you choose a dedicated web server to host your sites you have to pay attention to a lot of things indeed. But the main concern in my point of view is the up time which should be over 99.9% especially if u are running a bussy blog! Things like disk space and bandwidth should be taken in consideration last. There should also be a good raport between the price you pay and the services you receive in exchange!
