Ako Mismo!
If you’re watching TV, I’m sure you’d encounter the Ako Mismo! commercial wherein selected celebrities or individuals promised to do a particular task for the good of the community, or country.
The Ako Mismo slogan tells us: “Ano ang gagawin mo para sa kinabukasan ng bayang ito? Ako Mismo ang kikilos para sa bayan ko”
Just like what other bloggers thought about the Ako Mismo, I think it’s a campaign that urges every Filipino to do by themselves the things that will help raise our nation again. The Ako Mismo has this message: “Simulan mo ang pagkilos sa muling pagbangon ng Pilipinas. Maliit man o malaki, ikaw mismo ang magsasabi kung ano ang gagawin mo.”
This afternoon, I registered at the Ako Mismo website. They collected my personal information including my cellphone number which at first made me confused whether I would continue the registration or not. I was wondering why should they need to collect personal information including my phone number, and how secure is their site?
After that, I checked the Wall of Commitments (click here) where you will find the commitments made by those who registered with the Ako Mismo. As of writing this post, there are 186,193 commitments posted already. Most of the commitments posted are serious ones like:
- Ako mismo tutulong paghubog sa sa mga darating na henerasyon
- Ako mismo tutulongan ang bayan
- Ako mimso magmahal sa kapatid nating muslim
But I wonder how sincere are the members of the Ako Mismo campaigns. I even noticed a funny commitment that says: “Ako Mismo Hindi ikaw ok!”
I hope that the Ako Mismo campaign will stand in a way we look at it now.

I already register as a member on this. but don’t get the point
actually, i am thinking that making us pledge on what to do for the good of the country is just the front of the Ako Mismo. The real motive of the group behind this is not yet revealed.

sa bagay, maganda ngang idea na hikayatin ang bawat isa na mangakong “Ako Mismo” ang gagawa ng mga bagay na makkabuti sa ating bayan.
Kaso parang duda ako sa ganitong campaign lalo pa’t kinuha ang mga important info about sa atin gaya ng address, phone at iba pa. At isa pa, parang hindi malinaw yung campaign….. mangangako lang ba tayo na “Ako Mismo”? Mas malinaw pa ata yung campaign sa “Ako Ang Simula” ng ABS CBN.

pwede ring ganon. O di kaya bigla na lang tayong makakatanggap ng campaign text messages na iboto si Edu Manzano for Senator dahil sa pagkakaalam ko, isa siya sa mga organizer nito. Hindi natin alam baka, may pupunta sa bahay natin tapos kung anoano ang i-ooffer sa atin.. hehehee
i think that commercial “ako mismo” is simply a trial by publicity regarding the impact of election to the youths and to the people in the philippines.since it urges the right to suffrage of every filipino as a constitutional right, then every filipino can be of his right to report …but i think there are some points of the celebrities in the commercial that ako mismo initiates something a bad impression on the democracy.it simply initiates a kind of “chismis” in the where media can only sensationalize issues where it could be talked about but there is no proper action that could take place.hence, it only convince the youths just to be so impulsive in their rights with no proper decorum and become more rebellios in their rights..
di pa ako nakapagsign up dyan sa ako mismo, pero yeah I have seen the commercial already. naalala ko ung isang lalake dun sabi nya “Ako mismo, di ako magbloblog na makakasira sa bayan ko..” something like that ung sinabi..

hmmm “ako mismo” reaction ng kabataan? wow COOL! wow ! gawin nting trend! wow laos ka boy wla ka nito .. this is nothing more than a slogan! its effective yes it wakes you up it makes you think but thats it ! its up to you what you wanna do to contribute to this country this shouldnt turn into a fad , dogtag wont cut shit on finishing my studies being a good citizen comments on their site means shit some are even vain , id rather do what I can DO , Do with what power i DO have to make a change rather than keep talking dreams posting comments that your not sure you can uphold. kids these day i just dont get it even na ksing edad ko lng cla na 16 either im weird or theyre just plain fags nuf said.
