Answer:

You can apply the SSS sickness benefit only if you are unable to work due to sickness or injury and confined either in a hospital or at home for at least four days. However, you need to make sure that  at least three months of contributions within the 12 month period immediately before the semester of sickness has been paid then all company sick leaves with pay for the current year has been used up and the employer has been notified, or, if a separated, voluntary or self-employed member, the SSS directly.
