Google PR, Halloween 2009 Update

You already had notice that the PR (Page Rank) of the homepage of this blog was dropped from PR2 to PR0 last April 2009. I know that this drop of PR was just the result of the drop of the number of links from other websites back to this blog.

However, only this Halloween, when I checked this blog, I noticed a little green thing on the PR bar of the Google Toolbar. Finally, the homepage of this blog has been given a PR2 by Google again.

How about your own blogs?

Yeah. You might say that PR is really not that important but isn’t it better to have a PR 1 than PR 0?

Call it a stamp of pride. It feels good when Google rewards our efforts by giving us a PR. Mine has gone up from PR 2 to 3.

  2. Just like ark, my blog is now a PR 3 blog from PR 2. :D

I will say that PR thing has nothing to do with traffic. I agree with ark, its just a stamp of pride and in no way connected on how we can monetize the site. Mine has PR3 great BUT the traffic is less than 20 hits a day. Grrr.

Sir, I suggest you do the “keyword research” so that you’ll know what keywords should you focus at your blog. What you need to do is to research popular keywords but has less competition. Then after identifying those keywords, optimize your blog with those keywords.

My PR is unchanged. Still in 3 and 3. Good thing in did not fall. Google PR will not really meant to be something big unless you will got a PR of 5 or higher.

Mine from PR0 to PR2 for only three months. But my blog is not updated… :(

    • Selboy says:

I think, the PR2 that Google has given to your blog will inspire you now to update your blog.

By the way, I am an Electrical engineering graduate but is not licensed.

I got a PR0 for my two blogs…but on this most recent updates, my blogger blog got PR3 and my self-hosted blog got PR2.

Indeed, PR is not important…but nothing still beats when your hardwork is somewhat rewarded by Big G with this little stamp.

The PR on your Toolbar is not really important if you’re not making money through it but it shows how you build backlinks for your blog.

  7. Roy says:

I really can’t understand PR. Some of my blogs switched from PR2 to n/a, in-between update schedules…

Ironically, one of my blog which I haven’t been updating for more than 6 months remains at PR2.

I want to say that it doesn’t concern me, but since I do paid reviews, I need PRs to get some opportunity. Unfortunately, I can’t build them and get past PR2, and even losing some for reasons I don’t know.

    • SELaplana says:

Matt Cutts of Google already revealed that Google will penalize those websites caught selling links that pass PR. I don’t know how Google found them but lots of websites including blogs got the penalty already.

my blog, itlog pa rin ang PR. :) ok lang, di naman bumabagsak ang traffic.
