Question: I read on your other blogpost that you are very satisfied with the Smart Bro internet connection you have. My question is, is it ideal to use Smart Bro Broadband for an internet cafe?

Answer:

First Internet Cafe

There was once an internet cafe here in Maasin City (Rem’s Boutique and Internet) that used SmartBro Canopy internet connection for the 9 fixed computers of the cafe. The connection speed was better if you would simply surt the internet, and that no one was downloading files from the internet.

However, if you would play online games, you would just be embarrassed because the game speed would be slugish.

2nd Internet Cafe

Another Internet Cafe  here in Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City used the Smart Bro canopy internet connection before it was eaten by fire last May 2009. Its 12 computers were grouped into 2 (each group consists of 6 computers) and has its own canopy antenna.

In other words, this cafe had two Smart Bro 999 accounts; 2 canopy antenna; each canopy antenna was serving 6 computers.

With this setup, the internet connection is still best.

Conclusion

I think, Smart Bro Canopy is not ideal for the internet cafe. You better get wired internet connection from PLDT, BayanTel, Globe, etc. But of course you need to do your own research for you to know which of them has best internet connection in area.

However, if there is no wired internet provider in your area, then SmartBro Canopy is the best alternative.
