Answer:

To let you know, I have atleast 5 Yahoo! email accounts. But among these 5 email accounts, only the 2 email accounts received that same email.

So, regarding your question, whether this email is legit or scam, well it is obviously a scam. Phishers are the ones who sent you this email.

How sure I am that this is a scam?

If it is true that Yahoo would be closing email accounts due to congestions then in giving you the opportunity to save your account, Yahoo will never send you an email, instead the email system will automatically prompt you to do something once you log-in to your email account.

Haven’t you experienced logging in to your inactive Yahoo Mail account? If you failed to log in to your Yahoo email for 3 months (if I was not mistaken) your account will be automatically considered inactive. And to reactivate your account, you will be prompt by the Yahoo mail system right after you tried logging in to your account.

Don’t be fooled by this email.

Now, what will happen if I will reply to this email?

For sure, you will lose your email account. Remember that you’ve been ask to send them your username and password. And it’s like you are giving a free access to theives.

If you have more questions, feel free to send your question by using this form.
