Question:

I became member of the Social Security System on the year 1999. I don’t have SSS ID yet. I did not bother to get the SSS ID because I thought it’s not really that important as long as my SSS monthly contribution is paid.

When I opened a bank account, I was asked valid ID. That’s the time that I realized that SSS ID is important.

I want to apply for the SSS ID and to get it. Can you please tell me what are the steps?

Here’s what you need to do.

1. Get E-6 Form. You can get it at the guard of the SSS office near you or just download it, print it and fill it up with prope information.
   Note: If’ you’re asked the employer number, get the number using the  SSS Online Inquiry system. Read the articles, “Philippine SSS Website Registration” and “How to get the SSS Online Inquiry Username and password?” for more information.
2. Visit the SSS Office. Of course, you can go to the nearest SSS office. Then tell the guard that you want to apply for the SSS ID and that you already have filled the E-6 form. And follow what the guard will tell you.

You’ll learn the next steps at the SSS Office. Just make sure to talk with the guard-on-duty. Just be patience, calm, and talk the SSS personnel politely.
