Rig Explosion, A Test To Obama’s Offshore Drilling Plan

United States – The semi-submersible Transocean Deepwater Horizon $600 million platform 41 miles off the coast of Louisiana sank in 5,000 feet of water, Thursday morning.

It was learned that Tuesday night, there was an explosion inside the rig. It was not yet known what’s the cause of the explosion. Then intense fire burned the spewing oil which caused the sinking of the rig.

There are 126 crews rescued and among them there are 17 injured. Some of these people jumped almost 100 feet from the platform into the water. And as of writing this news, 11 persons are still missing.

This incident could be a test to the plans of president Obama to allow more offshore drilling to lessen the US dependence on the oil products coming from the middle East.
