Anamae Livrando, the Philippine’s “Poison Ivy”

Anamae Livrando is a housemaid who is convicted of poisoning her employers. Thus the authority dubbed her the “Poison Ivy”.

Modus Operandi

The targets of Livrando are families in luxurious condominiums. First, she will befriend the security guards. Once they are friend already, she will then ask them to help her find a job as housemaid. After getting employed, she will then poison her employers then steal everything she can from the victims while they are still confined in the hospital.

Manila Jail Escape 2008

In August 22, 2008, Anamae Livrando was arrested for frustrated homicide and robbery charges. In In February 28, 2009, she escaped from the Manila City jail while trial for the said charges. But after doing the same crime in two more families, she was then arrested again by the Quezon City police on April 7, 2011.

Convicted

She was convicted on August 2011 of multiple serious physical injuries and robbery for poisoning and robbing eight Filipino-Chinese families in Binondo, Manila City. She victimized another two families in Quezon City. She was serving the sentence in Women’s Correctional.

Women’s Correctional Escape 2011

On November 19, 2011, Anamae Livrando escaped from the Correctional Institution for Women through the help of certain Gonzales, a jail guard she paid for PhP80,000.00 in guiding her out of the correctional through a secret passage.

She immediately went to Batangas and stayed at her friend’s house. Then she went to Dumaguete City. On January 5, 2012, she arrived in Zamboanga City. She contacted her Malaysian boyfriend through cellphone and talked about her migration. Supposedly, her boyfriend will bring her in Malaysia.

Zamboanga City Arrest

Poison Ivy tried to secure passport from the Department of Foreign Affairs office in Zamboanga City as Kevin Kylie Deniega Cañabano. But she failed because the DFA-Zamboanga City is very strict in issuing passport. So, she plans to go to Cagayan de Oro City or Butuan City hoping the DFA offices in the mentioned cities are not that strict.

Zamboanga City Mayor, Celso Lobregat, received information about her presence in the city. The Mayor, then, coordinated with the police. Senior Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, director of the Zamboanga City Police then contacted Senior Superintendent Nelson Yabut, who is the one who arrested her in 2008.

Senior Superintendent Nelson Yabut and Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo were classmates.

In Zamboanga City’s terminal in Barangay Guiwan, Poison Ivy is waiting for a bus bound for Cagayan de Oro City on January 17, 2012 (Tuesday). She’s wearing a surgical mask to conceal her identity.

The PNP operatives who are looking for her, called her by her real name. As he heard someone calling her by her name, she responded. That’s the time that the authorities identified her positively. She was then arrested at around 10AM.

Poison Ivy, doesn’t want to be jailed again, so she tried to bribe the authorities who arrested her. But the authorities did not give in to her offer.
