PO2 Elizalde Bisaya and an iron shop owner, Crisanto Daguio died immediately, while PO3 Jose Toralba, PO2 Arnold Mayo and the owner of a nearby bakery, Riza Romualdo were brought to the Taguig Pateros Hospital, however, Toralba and Romualdo are pronounced dead on arrival while Mayo is still in serious condition.

The bomb exploded when the owner of the ironworks shop used the acetylene torch in trying to open it and then defuse it. But what happened is that as the bomb was being heated, it then exploded hurting a dozens of people and killing 4.

The police personnel violated the rules in defusing bomb, in which the area should be secured first before defusing it. What they did is that they brought the bomb into the populated area and there they tried to defuse it. Besides, vintage bombs should be surrendered to the bomb disposal unit of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The Police Officer who survived the incident will be facing charges.

The person sitting next to me said that this way of defusing a bomb is called foolish. He said that the police officers including the welder did not use their brains considering that it is just normal for a bomb to explode when heated.
