Whos Amung Us (whos.amung.us) is a website run by two Canadians which offers widgets that will track visitors of a website, blog, or social network profile. It shows the number of current visitor in real time, and if you’ll click the widget shown, you’ll be directed to a webpage that shows how many visitors are currently reading particular webpages. You can also check the map of your website’s visitors.
Google Adsense, on the other hand, is the ad publishing program of Google offered to those who have websites with unique and valuable contents. Members of the Google Adsense program are called Google Adsense publishers, and one of its publishers is the Whos Amung Us company.
If I was not mistaken, I started using the Whos Amung Us widget in 2009. Since then, I already noticed Google Adsense ads displayed at its webpages until few days ago.
Today, when I checked the stat of one of my websites, I noticed that Whos Amung Us is displaying Adbrite ads already instead of the Google Adsense ads that used-to occupy the same ad spots.
Is “Whos Amung Us” kicked from the Google Adsense publishers program? If Google Adsense Team kicked “Whos Amung Us” from the program, what was its violation? These are the questions that I immediately asked.
Google Adsense and Me
Actually, I was kicked from the Google Adsense program last June 15, 2012. The person from the Google Adsense Team who initiated the disabling of my account told me in an email that my account was disabled due to a violation. But he did not mention what my violation was.
I was really wondering what my violation was. Invalid clicks? Adult contents? Copyrighted contents? Spam?
I searched my email inbox for the previous emails that Google Adsense team had sent me. I was thinking that they might have sent me a warning message of the violation that I committed before kicking me away. And yes, I found one. It was an email sent to me by them on June 1, 2012, telling me that I need to clean up all my websites displaying ads by Google Adsense from the spam comments posted by spammers. They gave me one (1) URL as an example. They gave me three (3) days to clean up my websites but warned me that if they would found the same violation again, my account will be permanently disabled without warning.
I did not read this email on time, so I failed to take action. And I also failed to keep my websites free of violations of the terms of Google, and therefore it’s just right that they kicked me from their publishers program.
How did you feel after learning that you’re already kicked from Google Adsense?
I was of course hurt and feel sorry. Google Adsense is my main source of income. Besides, Google forfeited my money of more than $3,000 because it was on its term that once a publisher was kicked from the program due to violation, the unpaid earning will be forfeited and will be returned to the advertisers.
How’s your online money making?
I am still affected emotionally by the loss of my Adsense account, and I am still struggling to earn money from the internet. But I know I can still find ways to earn more than what I was earning before.
What advice can you share to other Adsense publishers?
First, you need to be ready. Anytime from now, your account will be the next. You can be kicked from Google Adsense even if your websites don’t have violations to the guidelines set by Google. I read a lot stories of publishers who were kicked from Google Adsense even if they did not commit any violations, but just because they (Adsense Team) thought that their (publishers’) websites might generates invalid clicks.
So, the old advice says: “Don’t put all your egg in one basket.” Don’t rely on Google Adsense. There are many ways you can monetize your blogs or websites… try them all. You can sell clickbank products; You can use premium content lockers; You can try other PPC ads; or You can even try the ninja way of making money online.

Until now I don’t know why my adsense account was disable. Google Adsense Team just send me an email that my sites violate the spirit of webmasters policy. I have 3 sites so I don’t know what site is.
As you know, today amung.us showing google adsense again..
I wonder if what you’ve seen at the AmungUs website is ads by Google Adsense. Here in my end, what I am seeing ads by Adbrite.
