Daily Time Record or DTR is a system of recording and organizing the time information of an employee or individual in relation to his or her attendance at work or any other activities. It can be classified into three (3): Manual, Auto-Mechanical, and Hi-Tech DTR.
Manual DTR is a way of recording the time of arrival and departure of an individual by logging or writing into the logbook the appropriate time. And then at the end of the month, the individual will simply copy the information from the logbook into the DTR form which will later be submitted to the proper personnel.
Auto-Punch DTR is a system of recording and organizing time information with the use of bundy clock and the punch card. The individual will insert the punch card into the card slot at the bundy clock and then the time information will then be printed by the machine into the card.
Hi-Tech DTR uses biometrics when logging in the time information. The biometric technology is used for identifying the individual so that the time information will be saved into the computer for that appropriate individual.
My first encounter with the DTR or Daily Time Record was when I worked at our school as a student assistant of our department head. The entries of it were based on the information logged at the log book. We (the student assistants) were told that there shouldn’t be any discrepancies between the time information logged in the logbook and those we wrote on the DTR form, otherwise, we were guilty of falsification.
Why I wrote a post about it?
This is actually my way of saluting the school head of the school where my wife is working as a volunteer teacher.
This school head teaches my wife to be an honest employee by encouraging her not to falsify her DTR.
It’s also my way of protesting against those who told my wife to falsify the entries of her DTR.
