So, the Jewel in the Palace or Dae Jang Geum ended last June 13, 2006 through the GMA7. I missed those days while my thoughts were in Korea following the life of a great lady of Korean History.

The Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum) aired by the GMA7 Philippine is already on its near end of the story. I know lot of the Jewel in the Palace fans like you want to watch again the said Korean MiniSeries from its beginning to its end. And I think, you are interested to purchase DVDs of it. Bryan Mari Argos wrote an article that made me a little (more) crazy for the Jewel in the Palace or Dae Jang Geum show which was currently aired by the GMA7 at 10:00 midnight from Monday to Friday.

It was told on that article how he became hooked with this Koreanovela which is packed with Cultural and Political drama. And gave us some of the reasons why this TV series stole the nation’s heart: (1) Jang Geum was played by a 35 years old young looking lady, (2) Jang Geum was supported by Highgrade actresses and actors, (3) Cultural theme and fourth:

Now, aside from the food-chat, there is also one very striking feature that I noticed about the show, the beautiful cinematography. Every scene in the show is a picture-perfect post card in itself. Actors and actresses are seamlessly united with the scenery that the entire show becomes a feast for the eyes. The colors are not too harsh in that one does not tire when watching how the actors and actresses interact with themselves and with the setting. In its entirety, the show is a beautiful cultural masterpiece. Although it has not ended yet, I am looking forward to how the screenplay writer would wrap together wonderful ribbons around the wonderful cultural material of Jewel in the Palace and in its final episode, present the show as a worthwhile gift not only to the Filipino audience but to the Filipino television and movie industry as well.
