So, to the fans of the Chuck, let’s just keep waiting for the season 3 of the Chuck. I read a blogpost talking about it telling us that NBC officially announced that there will be Chuck Season 3. However, I am quite not sure if that blogpost is for real or is just written by the blogger just to make us wait for it.

GMA7’s Codename Asero is really a good Techno-TV Series for you, showing you some high-tech devices and high-tech half-machine man. The main story might be good which is all about the competing top secret agencies. The talks might be entertaining. But the fact is I was not entertained by it.

Why am I uninterested with the GMA7’s Codename Asero?

First of all, the story of the Codename Asero is about top secret agencies and agents but they are not actually using the real principles of the real top secret agencies and agents. Paetechie talked about them at his blog and mentioned two things:

The agencies in the story are not using the principle, “know thy enemy and know thy self.”

The way the Advocacy agents use to detect if Asero is a cyborg is not really realistic. Just as what Paetechie mentioned, cyborg can really be detected by merely using x-ray devices.

However, if the writers behind the Codename Asero really want to make the story realistic, then they should at least do some research regarding Top Secret Agency and Agents and about cyborg too.

I guess they did not watched cyborg related movies like “Terminator” and “I Robot”.

Another thing is: The funny characters portrayed by Michael V and Janno Gibbs are actually not needed on the story, including their not-on-time jokes. These two characters are just showing stupid things. Well of course they can mix funny and serious stories in one TV Series but they should present it in better ways just like how Jacky Chan showed funny things on his movies.

I wonder if the “Palos” and “Lobo” of the ABS-CBN inspired the writers of creating the story of the Code Name: Asero of GMA7. “Palos” was actually a story of a secret agent of certain Agency, while the name “Lady Q” of the Codename Asero is similar to the name “Lady L” of the “Lobo”. If it is true that “Palos” and “Lobo” are the few of the previous TV Series and movies that inspired the people behind the creation of Codename Asero, then Codename Asero is a failure because “Palos” and “Lobo” were presented well than Codename Asero.

Based on the same Hur Young Man comic that inspired silver-screen blockbuster Le Grand Chef, 2008 SBS drama The Grand Chef (a.k.a. Gourmet) garnered rave reviews and top ratings with its delicious story and cast. Korean Wave heartthrob Kim Rae Won (Rooftop Room Cat, What Planet Are You From?) shows off his culinary skills as a grand chef, along with the talented lineup of Nam Sang Mi (Time Between Dog and Wolf, Sweet Spy), Kwon Oh Joong (Damo), and Kim So Yeon (All About Eve) and the mighty pen of renowned screenwriter Choi Wan Kyu (Jumong, All In). But the true star of the show just might be the dazzling array of food that appears in the drama! Bringing the art of Korean cuisine to television screens in delectable detail, The Grand Chef makes mouths water with colorful scenes of cooking competitions and elaborate gourmet dishes, providing viewers with useful cooking tips and delicious recipes along the way.

Practically raised in the kitchen of Korea’s most prestigious traditional restaurant, Sung Chan (Kim Rae Won) and Bong Joo (Kwon Oh Joong) have both been trained since an early age by Bong Joo’s father (Choi Bool Am) to become master chefs. Cool, meticulous, and ambitious, Bong Joo has been striving for years with the expectation that he’ll eventually inherit the restaurant and its royal legacy. His father, however, favors Sung Chan who is actually a descendant of the Joseon era royal chef. As the nonchalant Sung Chan gradually becomes more serious about cooking, his natural talent in the kitchen turns into a formidable threat to Bong Joo and rival chef Min Woo (Won Ki Joon, Jumong). When the three face off in an epic cooking competition, Min Woo and Bong Joo reveal their true sides with plans for sabotage. Shocked by the betrayal, Sung Chan disappears without a word, and starts a new life as a traveling vendor selling food to delighted housewives from a converted van. Enjoying his new low-key life, Sung Chan is content to let things be, but the past has a way of catching up.

Celebrating their 47th anniversary, MBC presents East of Eden, a star-studded blockbuster epic marking the television comeback of Korean Wave superstar Song Seung Heon. Song is joined by a stunning lineup of cast members, including Yeon Jung Hoon (Sad Love Story), Lee Da Hae (My Girl), Lee Yeon Hee (One Fine Day), Han Ji Hye (Sweet 18), Dennis Oh (Sweet Spy), and Kim Bum (Unhindered Highkick). Reaching viewership ratings of over 30% in Korea, East of Eden tells a sweeping saga spanning from 1960 to 2000 about the bitter rivalry between two men bound by the cruel turns of fate. After witnessing his father’s death as a teenager, Lee Dong Chul (Song Seung Heon) grows up in the shadows, vowing to get revenge on his father’s murderer. Pulled into the underworld at a young age, Dong Chul rises the ranks of the mob hoping to one day reach his enemy, Shin Tae Hwan (Jo Min Ki), a cold and ruthless businessman whose path to wealth is lined with blood. Dong Chul’s greatest pride in life is his younger brother Dong Wook (Yeon Jung Hoon), who overcomes great hardships to become a kind, upstanding prosecutor. But unbeknownst to everyone, Dong Wook and Shin Tae Hwan’s son Myung Hun (Park Hae Jin, By Land and Sky) were actually switched at birth. When the truth comes out, all lives and loyalties are upturned.

The exciting new SBS drama The Scale of Providence weaves an intriguing tale of romance, vengeance, and suspense surrounding a murder case. Song Chang Ui from Golden Bride plays Jang Joon Ha, an attorney out to prove that his brother (Oh Tae Kyung, Hwang Jin Yi) was wrongly convicted of murder. The victim was the woman Joon Ha loved. One of the most acclaimed Korean dramas of 2008, this 16-episode courtroom thriller provides a revealing, engaging, and often cynical look into the Korean justice system. Directed by Hong Chang Wook (Magic), The Scale of Providence co-stars Kim Yoo Mi (Country Princess), Lee Sang Yoon (Air City), and singer Jun Hye Bin (The King and I), and veteran Moon Sung Geun.

Korea’s answer to Nodame Cantabile (though with decidedly less silliness), MBC’s hit 2008 drama Beethoven Virus is set in the competitive world of classical music. Returning from his award-winning performance in The Great White Tower, Kim Myung Min stars as a stubborn conducting maestro whose life and music begin to change when he encounters a beautiful violinist played by Korean television’s newest darling Lee Ji Ah (The Legend) and a trumpet prodigy played by go-to heartthrob Jang Geun Suk (Hong Gil Dong). Classical music is their passion, their dream, and their life, but neither romance nor crescendos come easy for those bitten with the Beethoven Virus.

Kang Gun Woo (Kim Myung Min) may be Korea’s top conductor, but his status is eclipsed by his inability to get along with anybody. Despite his great talents, his notoriously difficult personality and refusal to compromise even an inch eventually put him out of work in his country. Years after leaving Korea, he is invited back by violinist Ru Mi (Lee Ji Ah) who is organizing a city orchestra on very limited resources. Formed by a ragtag group of amateurs and second-stringers, this budding orchestra has heart, but they’re short on cash and talent. Both the conductor and the players are in for a shock when they meet, none the least reluctant trumpet player Kang Gun Woo (Jang Geun Suk), who holds a childhood grudge against the self-righteous conductor with the same name as him.

It was Thursday (late) afternoon, June 19, 2008, when I started to feel the presence of Typhoon Frank in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte. At that time, I was still waiting for my loveones to arrive. They would attend my wedding that would be held on the next day, June 20, 2008. I was very much worried, thinking that all of them including my cousin who drove the Toyota Innova were all first timer visitors of the town of Hinunangan.

At 5:00 PM, they finally arrived and I brought them immediately to the Pension house of the Sts. Peter and Paul Multi-purpose cooperative in Bangkas, Hinunangan, Southern Leyte, where I rented a dorm-type (13 person) room for only PhP1,300.

Typhoon Frank was coming. In Surigao and Samar, the signal was already raised to #1, and I know that we would experience its presence even during the time of my wedding. It really worried me. Typhoon Frank was really a threat to my wedding but I know it couldn’t stopped us from coming to the Iglesia Ni Cristo house of worship in Panalaron, Hinunangan, Southern Leyte to received the blessing of God as the new husband and wife.

The next day, the signal was raised to #2 and that was our wedding day. Worries were there behind my mind, but my faith in God strengthen me and told me that even if Typhoon Frank will disturbed us with its strong winds and rain, the wedding will still go on. And that what really happened.

Wedding Reception

Now, I know why our plans to held the wedding reception at the Las Vegas Resort Hotel was canceled, and we finally held it in the Training Center of the St. Peter and St. Paul Muli-purpose cooperative which is located at the second floor of the Pension House. Some considered it a coincidence, but I considered it as God’s will.

You know, the wedding reception would just be turned to mess if it was held at the dining hall of Las Vegas Resort Hotel which is overlooking at the shore of the Hinunangan Bay. The hall is open and Typhoon Frank could easily broke in the reception.

Las Vegas Resort Hotel’s Dining Hall

Typhoon Frank at my Apartment

This post should have been posted earlier, but the province of Southern Leyte experience power black-out because lots of SOLECO’s power posts and lines were destroyed by the typhoon Frank. And not only that, this typhoon soak all my things inside my apartment unit in Maasin City. Got no choice but to use my time in saving all my things including my desktop computer.

The cast and crew of hit Taiwanese series Devil Beside Me join forces again for the new romantic youth drama Why Why Love. Fans have been clamoring to see Mike He and Rainie Yang in a drama together, and their wishes have finally been answered. The golden couple and Kingone Wang light up the small screen with a romantic triangle in this entertaining and lighthearted series.

Forced to support her irresponsible family, 20-year-old Jia Di (Rainie Yang) is an extremely thrifty and hardworking young woman. Cheerfully strong-minded and persistent, she has her eyes focused on one thing and one thing only – money! Thanks to her friend’s harebrained idea, she ends up selling “wish” coupons at a charity fair, and that’s how she meets department store heirs Huo Yan (Kingone Wang) and Huo Da (Mike He). Older brother Huo Yan is polite, responsible, and reticent while younger brother Huo Da is willful, egotistical, and temperamental; both are a world away from Jia Di and her count-the-pennies living – until they decide to buy coupons from her. Their coupons are for “love” and “guardian angel”.

MBC’s new mystery melodrama La Dolce Vita (a.k.a. Bittersweet Life) finds Oh Yeon Soo (Jumong) playing a part reminiscent of Diane Lane’s Oscar-winning role in Unfaithful. Also staring Lee Dong Wook (My Girl), Jeong Bo Seok (Dae Jo Yeong), and Park Si Yeon (A Love), the drama is hailed as a daring portrayal of middle-aged romance and adultery. The drama challenged the current TV censorship ratings with its raunchy, provocative love scenes between Oh and her younger counterpart Lee Dong Wook. Though Oh’s bikini scenes – considered a daring move for a seasoned Korean actress – received the media’s attention more than the drama itself at times, it is her stellar performance as the lovelorn heroine that ultimately earns the drama high marks from the audience.

A young man is found dead in what appears to be a suicide inside a posh apartment in Seoul. Retired detective Park Byung Sik (Baek Il Sub, Mom Has Grown Horns) arrives at the crime scene and identifies the corpse to be Lee Jun Soo (Lee Dong Wook), the very man he had been closely watching for the last six months. Meanwhile, housewife of 15 years Hye Jin (Oh Yeon Soo) takes a month-long break from her cheating husband to relax in Hokaiddo, Japan. On her way, she runs into Jun Soo who is also on his way to the island to identify his friend’s dead body.
