If you couldn’t find your name on the list, kindly check the sequence number. A broken sequence number means that there are names that I missed to type. However, if the sequence number is not broken then we have 2 options to consider: maybe you are included on the list of the top passers or you simply failed to pass.

Attacking other bloggers especially those considered experts is one of the techniques in link-fishing or link-baiting. However, you need to be tough enough and could stand firm on your accusation if you want to succeed in getting lots of backlinks from other bloggers.

Followers and fans of Brother Macuha who is considered by Filipino bloggers as an expert on SEO got mad after learning that another Filipino blogger who introduced himself as newbie blogger attacked the advice of the expert, particularly in localized SEO.

Rian, the blogger behind “RianTalk” accused Marghil of “Macuha – Make Money Online Philippines” of fooling new bloggers. He wrote this:

If you will simply target localized keywords based on his suggestions, then he has the freedom to choose other international target keywords because statistically, he will have lesser competition thanks to your foolishness.

For him, Brother Macuha is just fooling new bloggers by teaching them SEO technique that will only give advantage to his own blog not to blogs of those who followed his advices.

He also wrote this:

I know hidden and deep inside these bloggers’ hearts, competition is the number one thing. And that reason is enough for you not to listen to expert bloggers, at least to some of them.

It seems that he’s telling his readers that Brother Macuha is just guiding new bloggers to a different route so that Brother Macuha can simply avoid such competitions on particular keywords.

My Thought

I agree that lots of experts are trying to make money online from the new bloggers who want to learn the techniques in getting huge traffic from different sources especially search engines, and on making money online from the traffic their blogs have. Some of these experts offer modules but only those who paid them are the ones who can access the materials. Other bloggers wrote ebook, printed books, and released presentations and sold these materials to those who are interested to learn.

However, I disagree on the thoughts written by Rian on his blog that Brother Macuha was just trying to fool his readers for him to avoid the competition on the international traffic from the SERP on particular searches. In fact, I am one of the bloggers who enjoyed the benefits in applying his tips into this blog.

Of course, I do have my own self-learned techniques in optimizing my blogs for particular keywords, but I did not hesitate to use the technique he shared through his blog.

For example… I was already targeting keywords like “sex scandal“, “sex video“, and other popular and related keywords before Brother Macuha suggested the “pinay scandal” keyword. Since he was calling for Pinoy Bloggers to participate his “pinay scandal” SEO experiment, I immediately participated and successfully gained traffic from it.

If not because of his tips and suggestions, I don’t think I could drive huge traffic into this blog from “pinay scandal” searches.

Link Baiting

However, if you’ll investigate a little about the accusation, it was simply made to get backlink from Brother Macuha’s blog. SEO experts called this technique “Link Baiting” and it’s also one of the techniques in getting natural links from other blogs.

However, Mr. Rian is not that good link-fisher by using his blogpost as bait because when he learned that lots of Pinoy Bloggers reacted against his post and defending Brother Macuha’s side, he immediately admitted that he was just link-fishing.

He already got the backlinks from Brother Macuha’s blog. If he tried to stand and defend his accusation against Brother Macuha, then I think, he will still be getting more backlinks from other bloggers, just like what I did on this post.

But psychologically, he’s not yet ready on this. The heat on the discussion melted his ego, and immediately surrendered by admitting that he’s just link-fishing.

Well, I admired him for what he did. He really knew how to apply the advices of other SEO experts on how to get backlinks by link-fishing or link-baiting.

I am one of the happy mobile ad publishers earning money through the opportunity brought by the Admob. My mobile income is not quite huge compared to my Adsense income but with the addition of it, my gross online income became huge and enough to pay for my family’s daily needs and my other expenditures.

Today, I learned through the press release sent to my email by the Admob that Google is now acquiring the Admob technology. Below is part of the press release:

This morning we announced that AdMob has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Google. I’m obviously excited, and not only for our customers, partners, and employees. I’m excited because I believe this will be an important moment for everyone involved in producing, consuming, or monetizing engaging products on mobile. The truth is that the mobile industry has had no shortage of creative energy, amazing products, and talented entrepreneurs. But until now, it has always felt like those of us involved in this space played second fiddle to our online brethren. I believe that time is over.

Once the deal closes, what will happen next?

Actually, I am worried that everything in Admob will be changed. I am worried that time will come that my Admob earning will drop.

But I am also hoping that this deal will bring me another chances to earn more money from the mobile traffic of this blog.

Are you an Admob mobile ad publisher? What do you think is the advantage with this deal?

My thoughts and answer to the question of a visitor of this blog regarding the length of posts and the frequency of posting posts.

There was a question raised by a visitor of this blog and was posted as comment on one of my articles. The question is: Which is more important: Length of the post or the frequency of posting posts?

It’s actually a question that new bloggers are asking especially that there are established bloggers who advised new bloggers to write a long post. There are others who said blogposts should be short because the internet users tend to read short internet articles.

These bloggers who gave contradicting advices are all successful in blogging and making money online through their blogs.

There are also other bloggers who claimed that the length of post is not really important. What is important is the frequency of posting articles into the blog.

So, if you’re new to blogging and you’ve read both these contradicting advices, you will have the tendency to be confused. And this confusion sometimes will lead you to feel bored and disinterested in blogging.

Observations on Successful Blogs

There are already thousands of blogs that exist today that can be considered successful. Few of these blogs are: Steve Pavlina’s blog, Problogger, and Yugatech.

Below is my observation regarding the length of articles published and the frequency of posting those articles into each of the blogs.

1. Steve Pavlina’s Blog

The blog of Mr. Steve Pavlina at http://stevepavlina.com/blog/ is all about personal development. Articles published on that blog are all long which ranges from 2,000 words to 7,000 words (my estimate). Longer articles are posted 3 to 5 days after the previous article was posted, and shorter articles are posted 1 to 2 days after the previous article was posted.

2. ProBlogger

ProBlogger blog of Darren Rowse at http://www.problogger.net/ is a blog that contains helpful tips on how to blog, and how to make money from blogs.

Articles published on this blog are long but not as longer as those articles posted by Mr. Steve Pavlina. Most of the times, an article is published once a day. But there are also times that 2 to 3 articles are published in just a day.

But not all the articles published are written by Darren Rowse himself. There are guest bloggers who write and publish articles in behalf of Mr. Darren Rowse.

3. YugaTech – Philippine Technology Blog

Yugatech blog is owned and managed by Mr. Abe Olandres. He’s considered as the father of the Philippine Blogging. He’s not the first Filipino blogger but he is the first to promote blogging to his fellow Filipinos.

The Yugatech blog can be accessed at http://yugatech.com/blog/. Articles published on it are short that ranges from 200 words to 500 words.

Yugatech has no guest blogger. In other words, all the posts posted on it are believed to be his own personal writing. He is posting 1 to 2 articles everyday.

Conclusion

In other words, whether you are posting shorter or longer articles that are posted on your preferred frequency, you’ll still be successful in blogging, just like these 3 blogs we reviewed above.

Length of Posts or Frequency of Posting?

Length of posts and the frequency of posting the posts are both important to be considered in blogging. But on how long should your posts be and how often you will publish posts into your blog, all depends on the following:

1. Type of your blog

If you are maintaining a news blog similar to the following Pinoy Blogs:

Daily Contributor – “Your Daily Contributor on News, Technology, Sports and Entertainment“

Showbiz Intriga, Get it from Boy – “Your total Philippine Showbiz Authority! Philippine and Hollywood celebrities scoop and breaking news.“

Starmometer – “Your Total Entertainment Blog! The hottest stars and the latest buzz in the entertainment industry, it’s all here! Now on its 3rd year.“

… You are obliged to post at least 1 (short or long) blogpost daily because your frequent readers, especially your subscribers will be looking for fresh news articles from your blog everyday.

But 1 post a day is actually not enough, considering that most of the news blog is multi-topic blog, from Technology, Sports, Entertainment, to Politics and other news topics.

The Yugatech blog that we reviewed above can be considered a news blog which is focused on technology, gadgets and mobile phones.

However, if you’re maintaining a Tips and Tricks blog just like the blog of Mr. Steve Pavlina and Mr. Darren Rowse (both reviewed above), then there’s a tendency that your articles will be longer than those posted in the news blog, because there are things that you need to explain and demonstrate clearly.

But writing longer articles can be time consuming. So, it is also expected that you can’t post articles in daily basis just like what Mr. Steve Pavlina did at his blog.

In Mr. Darren Rowse case, he managed to post article everyday even if those articles are long because he got guest bloggers on his side. In times he couldn’t write article, his guest bloggers are doing it for him.

You can check the articles of the Filipino Blogs listed below that can be considered as tips and tricks blog. Then examine the length of the articles and the frequency of posting them:

Millionare Acts – “The Journey to Financial Freedom.“

Father Blogger dot Com – “Useful tips on parenting, marriage and blogging.“

2. Design and Structure of your Blog

If you’ll ask John Chow, why the posts published at his blog are longer than 200 words up to 1,000 words or longer, his answer is this:

The reason I do the 200 words minimum is so I have enough words to wrap my Google box ad. If I make a post that has less than 200 words, like a video post, then I will leave out the Google ad.

In other words, you need to consider your blog’s design in deciding how long should your post be. If you think, short posts can ruin your blog’s design and structure then you need to make your posts longer or just enough to keep the design of your blog.

3. The Number of Visitors and Subscribers

Sometimes, it is wastful to write articles everyday if you only have few visitors and subscribers. It’s like producing more cola drink even if your target consumer is only few. So, more products will just be wasted because only few of them will be consumed.

However, we should not forget also that visitors of our blog is not just human. Search engine bots frequently visit your blog too.

So, if your blog is new and has only few visitors, then why not publish 1 article everyday. it will be advantageous to you if you publish at least 1 article everyday because search engines love fresh daily content. And through the search engines, you can gain more visitors and subscribers for your blog.

4. The number of your blogs

If you have lots of blogs to maintain, then it is also impossible to post content in daily basis, especially if you don’t have guest or paid bloggers who could write blogposts in your behalf.

But which is more Important: Length of Posts or Frequency of Posting?

Just like what I said, both the length of posts and the frequency of posting the posts are important. But the Frequency of Posting the posts is more important.

You can post shorter articles or longer articles into your blog as long they contain useful information. It will be fine for your readers or visitors including bots to read shorter or longer articles.

But failing to post articles based on your established frequency of posting articles into your blog will only frustrate your loyal readers, even the search engine bots.

And while coping the need to publish post in your establish frequency, don’t ever forget to publish quality articles… just like what everyone knows, “Quality is better than Quantity.”

The Licensure Examination for Teachers which was originally scheduled on September 27, 2009 was postponed and successfully held last October 4, 2009 in different regions of the Philippines.

When will be the result be released?

My email was burried with the emails asking me when will be the result of the recently held Teachers Board Exam be released.

Actually, it depends on the number of the examinees who took the exam and the efficiency of the machine checking the papers. But based on last year September LET, the result was released in 1 to 2 months.

So since the Licensure Examination was held this October 4, 2009, and if there are more than 40,000 examinees who took the exam, then the result might be released on the last week of November 2009.

Anyway, you’ll receive updates in your email if you’ve subscribed our blog’s feed.

The news of the death of our beloved executive minister in the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) saddened all the brethren in the church.

According to Brother Bienvenido Santiago through the NET25, Brother Eraño G. Manalo (84) died yesterday at 3:53PM due to cardiopulmonary arrest in his home.

The wake will be open to public Today at the Central Temple in Barangay New Era, Quezon City.

Here’s the video of the official statement of the Iglesia ni Cristo:

Note: If your reading this article at your email, you should visit the live version of the article for you to be able to watch it.

As the preparation for the possible rush of the brethren into the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Temple for their last glimpse to the executive minister, the Quezon City Police Department deployed 200 policemen who will provide security and traffic management in the area.

But what is Cardiopulmonary Arrest?

Ka Erdy was suffering from prostate cancer but the cause of his death according to his doctor is Cardiopulmonary Arrest.

Here’s few of the definition of the term “Cardiopulmonary Arrest“:

asystole: absence of systole; failure of the ventricles of the heart to contract (usually caused by ventricular fibrillation) with consequent … (source: wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn)

A cardiac arrest, also known as cardiopulmonary arrest or circulatory arrest, is the abrupt cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the heart to contract effectively during systole. (source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiopulmonary_arrest)

To make it simple but clear based on the definition above, the heart of Ka Erdy simply stopped functioning which resulted to his death.

Funeral

Brother Eraño G. Manalo’s remains will be temporarily interred on September 7, 2009 Monday (12:00noon) at the Iglesia Ni Cristo Tabernacle, in the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Complex, Quezon City while awaiting for the construction of the mausoleum. “The said mausoleum will be built near the monument of the late Brother Felix Manalo, also within the grounds of the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Complex,” Brother Bienvenido Santiago said in a statement.

President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo declared September 7 as a national holiday, a day of mourning for the late executive minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo and all flags in the government offices will be flown in half mast.

As of Saturday, September 5, 2009, MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) chair Bayani Fernando advised motorists to avoid the Commonwealth avenue in Quezon City since an expected 2Million people will attend the burial of Ka Erdy. By midnight of Sunday to the afternoon of Monday, the Quezon-Memorial-Circle-bound lane will be closed to traffic from the corner of Luzon Avenue to the Quezon Memorial Circle. Tandang Sora Avenue and Central Avenue have been closed to traffic also.

They Called Ka Erdy as

The current president of the Philippines called Ka Erdy a “Great Leader“:

“This country and our world have lost yet another great leader in this generation who has touched the lives of multitudes by his life and his teachings.“

Former First Lady, Imelda Marcos called Ka Erdy a “good man“:

“Especially when Ferdie was just a new president, he would often seek Ka Erdy’s wisdom on many things. Ka Erdy and Ferdie were friends and as I remember those days, I cannot help but shed tears for Ka Erdy’s death. He was a good man, a very good man.“

Ramon Tulfo, a popular columnist, called Ka Erdy a “pious man“:

“Iglesia ni Cristo Executive Minister Erano “Ka Erdy” Manalo was a charismatic religious leader. But unlike other charismatic leaders, Ka Erdy never took advantage of government leaders who groveled at his feet for votes. Ka Erdy neither asked loans from the government nor sold his landholdings at criminally prohibitive price. He was a pious man.“

Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri considered Ka Erdy as “a man of God whose life and sacrifices will continue to inspire millions of Filipinos to follow and live according to the teachings of Christ.”

Former President Joseph Estrada called him “a man of exceptional faith”:

“Ka Erdy was a man of exceptional faith under whose leadership the Iglesia ni Cristo was able to grow from a small church in Punta, Sta. Ana, to more than 800 churches internationally.”

“We will always remember him for the discipline he instilled in the followers of INC and the spirit of reconciliation he tried to impart upon the leaders of our nation.”

Others considered him the “most powerful man in the Philippines” but did not abuse his power, and that other religious leader should consider him the model in respecting the separation of the church and the state.

Interment Update

Nearly 2 M brave rains for burial of INC leader (source: tempo.com.ph)

Chief Superintendent Elmo San Diego, director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said his men in the field had a crowd estimate of between 1.5 and 2 million attending the burial rites. …

Since the Central Temple could not accommodate everyone inside, organizers set up widescreens outside to enable those who were not able to enter the compound to witness the interment rites.

The crowd reached as far as the Ayala Techno Hub and remained steadfast as they watched the large screens transmitting the live feed of the funeral amid the pouring rain.

There were no untoward incidents reported, said San Diego.

INC faithful break into loud wailing (source: inquirer.net)

Rains failed to disperse the crowd that occupied the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue from UP-Ayala Technohub all the way to Tandang Sora Avenue. …

During the interment ceremony, some INC members closed their umbrellas so that other people behind them could see the screen better.

Other onlookers decided to take shelter under two pedestrian overpasses on Commonwealth Avenue, where they could be protected from the rain and at the same time have a birds’ eye view of the mammoth crowd.

Iglesia leader ‘Ka Erdy’ Manalo laid to rest (source: inquirer.net)

Wails echoed inside the INC Tabernacle, located inside the INC Central Complex on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, while Manalo’s remains were wheeled into the spacious hall where a white tomb adorned with white flowers lay in the middle.

His widow, Cristina, and five children and other relatives were in black and stayed somber throughout the 30-minute interment ceremony for the late INC leader. …

In accordance with INC beliefs, there were no prayers at the ceremony.

For INC members, once a true Christian dies, he is certain of salvation on Judgement Day.

My answer to a question raised by someone who was banned from Google Adsense account and wanted to get new Adsense Account for him to make money through his blog.

Reader’s question

A reader or our blog asked me this question through his email sent to me. Below is just part of his email.

Hello Sir Sel:

… I was banned from Adsense due to invalid clicks. I don’t know who clicked my Adsense ads. What I knew is that I did not clicked them by my self. …

Can I still create new Adsense Account? …

My Answer:

Unfortunately, if you are banned from Adsense, you are actually banned permanently. In other words, you can’t register a new Adsense account again even if you created new blog or website and host it with the new domain at a new server.

Banning you permanently is Google’s way of protecting their advertisers.

However, by changing your identity, you can still get new Adsense account. What I mean is that you can register again from Adsense if you will use your child’s identity or of your wife’s but not your own identity.

And after successfully getting new Adsense account, you need to forget the identity you used in your former account including your blogs and websites and any accounts in Google because once Google will notice that you are connected to the banned account, your new Adsense account will eventually be banned again.

And one more thing, you also need to learn to follow the Google Adsense policies because if not, even if you get new Adsense account and forgot your old identity, Google will still ban your account.

Just read my old article. My thoughts contained on that article will tell you how to do that: How to register again from Google Adsense?

My answer to the question sent to me by a subscriber of this blog regarding hormonal imbalance and it's relation to facial hair.

Subscriber’s question:

Hello Sel,

I read your article about hormonal imbalance. I learned a lot from it especially that my friends told me that I might suffering from hormonal imbalance since I have lots of facial hair.

My question is: Is hormonal imbalance caused facial hair to women?

Thanks,

Cecil

My answer:

Actually, there are many types of hormonal imbalance. The hormonal imbalance that I was talking in the article that you recently read is the imbalance of hormones called progesterone and estrogen in women.

And yes, facial hair in women is caused by hormonal imbalance. But this time the hormones involved here is the testosterone.

To let you know, men and women both have the hormone “testosterone“. The testes of male and the ovaries of women are the ones responsible to the secretion of this hormones. And sometimes it is also secreted by the androgen glands.

However, the level of testosterone hormone in male is high compared to that of the female. Normally, in female, estrogen and progesterone are high in level.

So, once the level of testosterone in women is too high, women will experience the growth and development of facial hair because facial hair is one of the effects of testosterone in human’s body.

However, not at all times the cause of facial hair is the testosterone hormone imbalance problem. There are other causes of it like, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, heredity, and others.

So how to fix the hormonal imbalance?

The best way to check the hormonal imbalance is to visit and consult your gynecologist. Don’t believe on what the articles published in the internet because the advices contained with those articles might not be applicable to you.
