Hazel Jones, a 27-year-old a British from High Wycombe, Bucks has a condition called uterus didelphys. It’s a condition wherein she has two vaginas, two cervixes and two uteruses.

The condition of Jones has been diagnosed by the doctor only when she reached 18 after suffering from menstrual cramps. She started feeling menstrual cramps since the beginning of her menstruation.

According to her doctor, Jones has a septum or dividing wall between her two vaginas, which occurred during her own development in the womb.

Jones first suspected that something was wrong with her organ when her boyfriend told her that her genitals were not normal.

Hazel Jones

Hazel is not Alone in the Condition

After her story was shared at iTV, more women commented telling that they too have a uterus didelphys condition.

A certain Liz, said:

I have a vaginal septum and a bicornuate uterus.I found out when I was 26 hours into labour with my first child as both sides had dilated to 4cm and my baby had grown in the left hand side there was NO chance of having a natural birth.(delivered by c.section)it was a bit of a shock as the only problems i’ve encountered was i’ve never been able to use tampax during periods.I have had 2 miscarriages since my first child but have gone onto have another healthy child, both children born 3wks early..

Soulfull said:

i have 2 wombs 2 cervix and this condition got me into big trouble as a little girl my spare womb kept blocking, it was painfull untill 1 night it exploded and my halfwit doctor diagnosed miscarriage. it tore my heart apart as i was still a virgin…. im yet to meet someone who has experienced this and the rejection of being misunderstood as girl.i never did get over it.i have little faith in drs and have learnt incompetence doctors have the power to deny their mistakes…..

Bextrod shared:

I have exactly the same condition too, I have 4 children all by c-section and my daughter has the same condition. My other 2 girls will have to be checked out when they are older. There is a group on facebook to share and get advice With 2 of my children I fell the 1st month of trying. There are a lot of doctors who don’t know enough about it a lot of people with the condition have perfectly good pregnancies etc. Periods are a bit of a nightmare and smear tests though!!

Are you using French-made implants on your breasts (or testicle if you’re male)? If you are not using implants, then you’re safe. But if you have implants, then you better check them whether they are made in France, particularly by the Poly Implants Prostheses company which is known as PIP. Women, particularly in France, are already advised to remove the implants because authorities have found out that the PIP- made implants are contaminated of industrial-grade silicon.

The silicon with industrial-grade are silicon that should not be used in medical purposes. The purpose of this kind of silicon is for industrial use, not for medical purposes as to be implanted to human body. And using this silicon as body implant is rumored to cause cancer to the user.

The British health department argued that there is no evidence found yet linking the implants to cancer. However, there is already one reported case of death of a PIP implant user because of cancer. However, the implant of this French woman was ruptured.

This incident sends message to the authorities and even to implant users that ruptured implants might be the cause of cancer to that woman. And while there are no other reported case of death, there are however more patients suffering from cancer and at the same time a PIP implant user.

You should really consider removing them from your body so as to avoid becoming another victim of it, considering that the PIP-made implants, according to reports, are easily be ruptured.

Actually, I am wondering if the former president’s (now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) implant are made by PIP. It was reported in 2009 that she underwent breast implant procedure in 1980′s because of “medical necessity”.

At 12:01 am, before dawn of Thursday, January 5, 2011, a 3.0 magnitude quake hit Davao Oriental. The slight tremor was believed to be the cause of the landslide in Compostela valley, particularly in Barangay Napnapan (Sito Diat 1 and Diat 2), town of Pantukan, which happened few hours after the tremor, considering that the lands have been saturated already due to the continuous rains since the late of December 2011.

The landslide happened at about 3:45 am and covered houses of the small scale miners in the area and killed at least 25 people, injured 15 people and 150 more people who are still missing.

Rescue teams from Philippine National Police, Arm Forces of the Philippines, Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Health along with the other small scale miners and APEX miners are still conducting rescue operation.

The town of Pantukan has been declared under the state of calamity by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

April 2011 Tragedy

These people are actually warned already by the authorities and are advised to evacuate the area since authorities found out that the area is hazardous for settlers for it is prone to landslide after a landslide happened on April 22, 2011 which killed 14 people and 9 others are missing in Barangay Kingking of the same town. But the residents do not listen and they remain there for gold.

Most of the residents in the town particularly in the affected area are small scale miners who are responsible of the holes in the mountain. Their mining operation is already considered illegal since the DENR has already seized issuing environmental compliance certificate to them.

No Habitation Policy

DILG Secretary, Jesse Robrido, the closure of the tunnels and the demolition of bunk houses in the gold rush area which is considered as high risk area. The area is now under the “no habitation policy.

Residents of Barangay Kingking have been given 48 hours to demolish their homes and move to the safer place. Ballmills and other gold processing facilities owners are given three months to move their facilities far from the area, so that there will be no reason for the families of the miners and the operators of the facilities to live near the mines.

Trivia

Compostela Valley is one of the Philippine provinces that has the largest mineral reserves. According to the Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau estimates, the gold reserves in the province reach to 181,745,339 metric tons and the copper reserves are estimated to be at 481,775,616 metric tons.

Compostela Valley is known as ComVal is previously part of the Davao Del Norte province. It became an independent province in 1998.

I first tasted the Yakult drink when I was still studying in college. I just met a woman pulling a box and was selling Yakult drink in the terminal. I bought one, and yes… it’s addicting.

So, I really like the taste of the Yakult drink. It has a balanced taste of sour and sweet plus the sensation of a skim milk. I am still wondering why it has a sour taste. Is it the taste of the 8 billion lacto bacilli bacteria?

Now

I am currently drinking 2 to 3 bottles of Yakult everyday. Why? Here’s the reason:

1.) I recently realized that I really have a severe problem in indigestion. It seems that everyday, I am having diarrhea.

2.) I was thinking that my indigestion problem might be caused of less good bacteria present in my stomach. Almost every month, I was taking anti-biotics medicine. And I understand that these kind of medicines will not only kill those bad bacteria that caused my illnesses but they will also kill those good bacteria in my body… even my sperm cells.

3.) I realized that I really need to take foods that contain good bacteria. I was just thinking, what if I will drink Yakult or similar products that contain lacto bacillus bacteria. Taking this kind of product might help me relieve my indigestion problems.

4.) I tested with one bottle of Yakult and I was successful. I experimented using the Yakult drink.

In the first day of my experiment, I took a bottle of Yakult. Then I ate food that I knew I had a problem of digesting them. But on the next morning, my faeces were fine which showed that the food I ate were better digested.

We’re on the second day, right? I did not drink Yakult on that day. I again ate similar foods I ate on the first day. But by the evening, I was in the toilet excreting the waste food that seemed not digested.

With that few samples of the experiment, I already concluded that the bacteria contained in the Yakult drink helped me digest the food I eat. So, everyday, I drink Yakult every after meal (but only in times that I have the stock of Yakult drink).

It was on Tuesday (October 11) when I finally realized that I had fever. But I already experienced dizziness on Sunday and Monday (October 9 and 10). I just disregarded it because I thought that it was just the effect of having worked the roofing of our house alone in the whole day.

My fever was just mild. I also realized that I had tonsillitis. So, I only took paracetamol medicine for it while resting at home.

I thought that the fever would just be gone after a day. But on the next day, Wednesday, my fever roused to I think, 40 degree Celsius. I started vomiting until I became so weak.

My wife brought me to a local hospital. I was confined for three days with intravenous device attached on my left hand. The hospital staffs were giving me anti-biotic medicine through this intravenous device.

The doctors found out that I was suffering from multiple infections. First, I had tonsillitis. Second, they found large amount of blood in my urine. They told me that the fever might be caused by the UTI or Urinary Tract Infection that I might be suffering. Third, there are lots of bacteria in my blood. I heard from a nurse while reading the result of medical tests saying that there are more than 20,000 units of bacteria found in my blood.

Well, I found the hospital room and staffs good. I stayed in a surgical ward. The room can accommodate up to 5 patients but there are only three beds placed there. And among these three beds, only two were used, one by me and the other, by a patient suffering with UTI too.

I checked out from that local hospital on Friday, and up to time of writing this journal, I was still in the recovery stage. My body is still weak and I am still taking anti-biotic medicine.

I read in the news today about the successful separation of the 11-month old Sudan-born twins joined at the heads in UK.

The twins are Rital and Ritag Gaboura. They were separated in August by the surgeons at the Great Ormond Street Hospital and the operation is quite successful and the two are in good health.

The girls underwent four (4) operations: The first two operations involved separating the brain and its blood supply which took place in May. The third operation involved using tissue expanders to stretch and grow new skin in July. Then finally the separation itself in August 15.

The twins parents are both doctors in Sudan.

I don’t know that tooth infection can actually kill until I read this news:

Man Dies From Toothache, Couldn’t Afford Meds

A 24-year-old Cincinnati father died from a tooth infection this week because he couldn’t afford his medication,… When his face started swelling and his head began to ache, Willis went to the emergency room, where he received prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medications. Willis couldn’t afford both, so he chose the pain medications. … The tooth infection spread, causing his brain to swell. He died Tuesday.

source: ABC News

I thought that tooth infection is just mild problem and that it will just be cured without taking any anti-infection medicine just like what I did before when I had this kind of infection. I only gargled warm water mixed with salt as instructed by my parents.

The reported incident should be a lesson to us not to disregard even just a toothache. Don’t just take any pain releaver medicines. Visit immediately the dentist near you for the proper medication or any dental operation.

I am sure, in your municipality or city, there is at least one dentist who can help you. You might pay for their service but I know that the fee is affordable.

Guttmacher Institute Argues

The Inquirer published the argument of the Guttmacher Institute which clearly accused Dr. Raul Nidoy of distorting the evidence to support his personal opinion.

The Guttmacher’s letter tries to correct the misuse of its findings by Dr. Nidoy on his letter to the Inquirer, including his opinion against the artificial contraceptives including and particularly birth control pills.

What he actually does is distort the evidence to support his personal views. …

The Guttmacher pointed out:

They found the abortion rate in the Philippines would be reduced by 83 percent if all women who wanted to avoid pregnancy were able to access modern contraceptive methods and use them correctly and consistently.

They also made clear that the claims that the birth control pill is abortifacient is false and a contradiction to all scientific evidence. Birth control pill does not terminate a pregnancy, but only prevents a pregnancy.

They also claimed that Nidoy misrepresents the findings of the Guttmacher study “Relationships Between Contraception and Abortion: A Review of the Evidence” by failing to mention that the study found that in cases where abortion and contraception rose simultaneously in a given country, it was because fertility desires were falling and contraceptive use was not increasing fast enough to meet the desire for smaller families. The study also found that once fertility rates stabilized, abortion rates fell as contraceptive use continued to increase.

They also accused Nidoy of ignoring the evidences that prove the positive effect of having access to the family planning services.

Dr. Raul Nidoy

Dr. Raul Nidoy actually involves in pro-life movement. He is the Director of Personal Formation of Parents for Education Foundation or PAREF as what has been told in his blogger.com profile page.

Talking about Pro-Life, people involve in this movement believe, if I was not mistaken, that sex should be done according to its main purpose which is for procreation. They are against to the use of artificial contraception or any means of birth control including the calendar because they interfere the natural purpose of sex, therefore, should not be used. And I think, this belief is similar to what the Roman Catholic Church teaching.

In contrary to their belief, some protestant sects and other churches, upheld the teaching of the Bible that sex is the gift of God for married couple (man and wife) not just for the procreation purposes but for the couple’s pleasure as well. They also believe that the Bible doesn’t prohibit the use of contraception considering that natural or artificial contraception is used to avoid conception but not to abort any conception.

I Support the RH Bill

Everybody knows that I am member of the Iglesia ni Cristo. The church has already released its official stand and support to the RH Bill. But before this, I was already expressing my support to the said bill here on this Make Money Online blog.

Well, at least I am now sure that my stand regarding the use of safe contraceptives is in accordance to the teachings of the church (INC). And it also clearly means that my spirit is still one with the spirit of the INC administration, not like what happened to a Jesuit priest in De La Salle.

A certain Fr. Bernas openly expressed his positive thoughts about the RH Bill. I don’t know if he really supported the RH Bill. But his thought about the RH Bill is in contrast to the official stand of the church he was affiliated with which is the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic Church until now teaches its members that the use of artificial contraception is prohibited. I was even confused to its belief that any means of artificial contraception including the use of condom are abortifacient.

I don’t know if my understanding about abortifacient is correct. For me the term abortifacient refers to something or some ways that will result to abortion. And based on what I learned from science as thought to us since elementary, life begins when the egg cell of woman has been fertilized by the sperm cell of man. So, I think, condom should not be considered abortifacient considering that condom is used to avoid the fertilization of the egg cell by the sperm cell.

But why I am supporting the RH Bill?

I know that the RH Bill still needs to be refined. However, I believe that our country needs a law on reproductive health not just for the benefit of women and children but for the whole Filipino families as well.

What about the pills and injectibles? They are abortifacient! And the RH Bill promotes these abortifacient devices!

I know that there are pills and injectibles that are abortifacient or are used for abortion. But not all pills and injectibles used for contraception are abortifacient.

Actually, my wife uses injectable contraceptive. But its use is mainly to avoid ovulation. And when there’s no ovulation, then there will be no egg cell that will be fertilized by the sperm cell. And since there is no fertilization happened, then there is no conception. Therefore, there will be no abortion.

Besides, it is clearly stated in the RH Bill that abortion is still unlawful. In other words, those abortifacient medicine and devices will not be included on the artificial contraception that will be promoted by the government to its citizens.

But isn’t it true that God told men to go to the world and multiply and fill the earth? Controlling the population growth is clearly against God’s teaching!

I don’t think that God told men “to go the world and multiply and then fill the earth” ONLY. I am reading the Bible too. And what I found here is that God told men to:

Be fruitful

Multiply

Fill the Earth

Subdue it

So, controlling or subduing the multiplication is also a commandment of God. But we should take note that what has been written in the Bible is just “Subdue It” not “Stop It.” In other words, we are told to control the multiplication but not to stop the multiplication.

But what should we use to control the multiplication? Of course, we should use the methods and devices that do not violate other laws and teachings of God.

For example: God told us not to kill man. So, we should not kill anyone including the fetus inside the mother’s womb. Aborting the pregnancy is an act of killing, and therefore a violation of God’s commandment.

Finale

I still have lots of things to say. And I think, I will just update this post later. I know some of the things I said here might touch your pride. I understand that everyone of us has our own opinion regarding the RH Bill and or the artificial contraceptives. And what I said here are my opinion too.

Thank you so much for reading this.

My wife and I brought our son, Carl Justine, to the Hinunangan Community Hospital last Monday, May 2, due to the amoeba infection. The medical technologist of the Hinunangan Rural Health Center found traces of Amoeba from CJ’s stool, and we were advised too by health workers in the center to admit CJ in a hospital for treatment and for the prevention of dehydration.

But before that, I was already suspecting that CJ had been infected by Amoeba. Last Saturday, April 30, I noticed that his stool contains mucus which is not an ordinary stool. The mucus on the stool indicates an infection. He might be infected with bacteria like the one that causes typhoid fever or with the amoeba which can cause dysentery-like disease.

We recently checked out from the hospital after the doctors found out that he’s already becoming better. Besides, the hospital is just too small to accommodate many patients.

April 30’s my Brother’s Day

Talking about April 30, it’s actually my brother’s, Engr Lorenzo Laplana birthday. He’s working at the Philippine Smelting and Refining Corporation in LIDE, Isabel – Leyte, as one of its area managers.

To my brother: Happy birthday!

In Bantayan island of Cebu, a janitor of the Bantayan District Hospital was performing a catheter insertion into the organ of a patient, as reported by the Sun-Star Cebu newspaper.

Astero Rivera, 68 a resident of Barangay Ticad in Bantayan went to the hospital last Tuesday for his failure to urinate for 3 days already. After the patient was examined by the hospital’s doctor, the janitor, Arturo Abello, was instructed by the doctor to insert the catheter to the patient’s organ. So Mr. Abello did the insertion.

When the doctor asked why it’s the janitor who performed the medical procedure, the doctor answered that there were too many patient to deal with at that time, so it’s the janitor who was instructed to do so. The doctor seems confident with the janitor because according to him, the hospital trained the janitor to perform the catheter insertion.

The problem of the patient seems relieved after the catheter insertion. But this time, he’s urinating blood. The doctors at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center or VSMMC who examined the patient, found out that the catheter was not properly inserted to the patient’s organ.

The VSMMC doctors blamed the Bantayan Hospital doctor or the medical personnel who performed the insertion. The doctor wanted to wash his hands from this incident, so he just divulged that it’s the janitor who inserted the catheter.

Kawawang Janitor. Pero dapat ding sisihin ang doctor na yan.

By the way, when my wife underwent a Caesarean Section delivery last May 2009, it was a male Student Nurse who inserted the catheter to her organ. The doctors and the nurses present during the operation were even joking and laughing after the Student Nurse successfully inserted the catheter.

But the only good thing is that professional medical doctors and licensed nurses were there observing, while the Student Nurse inserted the catheter to my wife’s organ. What ever happened, they were there to correct the mistakes if ever the Student Nurse did something wrong.

In the case of the janitor who performed the catheter insertion, if we will consider what the hospital doctors said, that there were too many patients to deal with at that time, I guess, the doctor manning the hospital left everything to the janitor. He did not even examine the catheter whether it was inserted properly or not. If he checked what the janitor did, then he might discover earlier that the catheter was improperly inserted, the problem would be corrected and the patient would not suffer anymore. Besides, their secret, that a non-medical personnel is performing medical procedures will remain their secret.
