Below is the list of blogs that I want to include on my list of top 10 emerging influential blogs in 2008 but failed to qualify based on the qualification provided by the writing project organizer which says, “… These are blogs that started anytime from July 1, 2007 to the present”; “Old blogs who move to a new domain are disqualified” and “Blogs who remove their archives just to fit in the cut-off date are disqualified.” (source: Influential Blogger) and the qualifications I set for my own list.

Pinoy Ambisyoso. The Blog of Mr. Lavern Tan about his thoughts and experiences as blogger which officially started on June 2007.
Our Journey To Forever. The blog started since 2006 and I don’t know who the blogger behind this blog.
Fashion Express Tips. This blog might be considered emerging and influential considering the start date of it and the number of feed subscribers. But I just don’t want to include blogs on my list of the top 10 emerging influential blog in 2008 that are using the subdomain names of free blog hosting services like blogspot.com and wordpress.com, and the identity of the blogger behind the blog is not revealed on his about-me page. I’m sorry for this. Anyway, your blog gets a backlink from this post.
Julia Aquino. Self-titled blog of Julia Aquino on entertainment and other topics that interest her. It is the most popular blog listed in Top Blogs (PH) but I don’t know when did it start.
Silken Hut. I thought this blog is already too old to be nominated for the 2008’s emerging influential blogs, but I realized that it is still qualified to be listed. Silken Hut is the blog of Allen. Ma’am Toral informed me that this blog is disqualified for the Top Emerging Influential Blogs in 2008 because the current domain is the continuation of its old domain.

Anniversary Gift, Free Cellphones Load

I found out that few of our visitors are ~~not~~ now asking for free cellphones load from me thinking that I am the one who will give free cellphones loads on my post, “Pinoy Texters� Time To Win Free Cellphone Load.”

Like Angel, some of you might be wondering why I am promoting the Filipina Writing contest organized by the Digital Filipino, “Janette Toral”. Am I paid to do this?

To make it clear, Ms. Janette Toral of the Digital Filipino is not paying me even a cent in promoting her organized Filipina Writing contest. I am just a participant of the said writing contest hosted by the W3O, and being a participant, I am obliged to help them spread the words about the contest as stated on the instruction:

It might be true that what was asked is just a link on my entry post back to the contest page. But since the purpose of it is to spread the words, so I decided to frequently talk about it to help spread the words in the farthest corner.

Feed Readers and Regular Visitors. This kind of contest is one of the ways in exposing your blog to other bloggers and readers. Participating it is free. I recently participated the “Filipina Writing Contest” organized by my favorite “Sun-Star Cebu” columnist, Ms. Janette Toral at the W3O blog, without thinking that I can get anything from this contest.

Of course I know, that there are plenty of advantages if you participate writing contest like this, and Ms. Toral mentioned them already on his Reflective Thinking blog. And one of these advantages is your blog’s search engine’s visibility and to gain it, you must employ some trick as suggested by Ms. Toral:

Highlight the word Filipina (you can also use phrases such as Filipina women, Filipina dating, Filipina hearts, Filipina singles) in your blog post and link it to your entry.
If you have several blogs, link to your entry from the sidebar and/or make a blog post about it. Use the word Filipina (you can also use phrases such as Filipina women, Filipina dating, Filipina hearts, Filipina singles) and link that to your entry.
Ask fellow bloggers to link or make a review of your entry.
If you are using Google Reader, add it to your shared items.

The Result

Ms. Toral informed me yesterday that my blog’s entry to the Filipina writing contest has been ranked at the 2oth page of the Google SERP and MSN SERP when searching for the keyword “FILIPINA”. However, when I checked today, I found out that the said entry was already listed at the 11th page of the Google SERP as shown below:

Now, what if I will win the number 1 slot on the first page of the Google SERP when searching for FILIPINA? Well, that will be great. Another tons of traffic will be directed into this blog, in which part it might be turned into regular visitors or feed readers.
