Aquino, A Wide Lead On Presidential Election
Philippines – Presidential candidate Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, the son of the late President Corazon Aquino and Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino II who are both democracy icons, gets a wide lead of votes on the presidential election, Monday.
In a 78 percent of the precincts, Aquino has 40.19 percent while former president Joseph Estrada only has 25.46 percent. Senator Manny Villar has conceded already, congratulating Senator Noynoy Aquino.
Despite problems with the machines and political harassment in some part of the Philippines, the COMELEC was happy with the high turnout.
