While Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Edward Adams, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, and other bishops celebrates the ecumenical service on Thursday afternoon at the Manila Cathedral that marked the second anniversary of the May They Be One Bible campaign, during the reading of the Sacred Scriptures, Mr. Carlos Celdran stood in front of the church goers pinning his poster  which says, Damaso while shouting Don’t involve in Politics which was considered by the church as offensive.

Carlos Celdran who is a tour guide in Intramuros is a supporter of the RH Bill. Wearing the suit similar to which  Jose Rizal wore during his execution, Celdran successfully aired his protest against the church that opposed the RH Bill and the President’s liberal view towards the RH Bill and in contraceptives in particular. He was then brought outside the church and then arrested and sent to jail.

Priests in Manila condemned Celdran and urged the Intramuros government to oust and ban Celdran.

Celdran was released from jail after posting PhP5,000 bail.
