Cementing Macondo Well Successful, BP
British Petroleum in a statement said Monday that cementing the Macondo well is successful and that no oil nor gas being spilled out into the Gulf of Mexico since mid-July.
The cementing process of the Macondo well as part of the static kill of the well has been completed on Thursday. Tests of pressure on the well shown that the well has been properly cemented.
However, BP is still going to apply the ultimate kill of the well using two relief well and then mud and cement will be pumped into these two wells, thus permanently sealing off the well.
