Gaisano Capital in Cebu, Turned to Ash Before Christmas
In the June 2011, if I was not mistaken, Gaisano Capital successfully opened its branch in Sogod town of Southern Leyte. It was not that big but it’s better compared to the Maasin Hi-Per, a branch of Gaisano Metro in Maasin City.
Early as 12 midnight on Friday, the Gaisano Capital in Cebu, it’s main store, was hit by fire and was turned to Ash. Of course, it’s building was still there but everything inside the building are already ashes.
The fire started in the second floor of the building. A source said that it started by a spark in the generator engine room. The fire fighters took more or less 12 hours in controlling the fire because of they lack better tools, equipment, and devices. They couldn’t go in because the smoke was very thick and they don’t have enough breathing apparatus. The fire alarm was raised to task force bravo by 3AM, and firefighters coming from neighboring towns helped in.

The Gaisano Capital building has 8 storeys and all of these storeys were eaten by fire. The owner of the Gaisano Capital Group is Mr. Eddie Gaisano.
