Google filed lawsuit at the US Court of Federal Claims Friday, over the bidding process by the Department of Interior for the e-mail contract that favor the Microsoft Business email software.

The Department of Interior, however, wrote in the specification that Microsoft’s software is the only commercial product that meets the requirement specified by the Department. But Google consider it an anti-competition and a violation to the law as stated in the lawsuit that the Department of Interior violated a federal law that mandates government agencies to use open and competitive procedures in soliciting contracts.

Google wants the contracting process halted until the department complies with the law.
