McDonald Recalling Kids “Shrek” Glass Toy
McDonald is currently recalling “Shrek” beverage glasses for containing Cadmium.
It was noted that there are 12 million “Shrek” themed glasses because it was detected that the paint used in the theme of the glass contains toxic or carcinogenics metal, Cadmium.
The glasses were made for McDonald by the ARC International North America Inc., of Millville, N.J.. They were sold for $2 each.
There was no reported injury of using the glasses and the products passed the tests. The Cadmium level of the products is slightly above the standard but it doesn’t put acute risk to children. But still McDonald Corp urged consumers to return the items with full refund to avoid the risk when handling the Cadmium content level to ones body since Cadmium is present to anything.
Cadmium metal was used by paint maker as a replacement of Lead. But Cadmium and Lead both have negative effect to ones’ health.
