Tourist Falls into the Crater of an Active Volcano
Bali, Indonesia – A Swedish tourist was killed yesterday when he fell into the crater of a live volcano on the Indonesian Resort island of Bali.
The 25-year old victim, Daniel Fetersen, along with his two friends and a tourist guide were hiking early morning along the rim of the crater of 5,633-foot Mount Batur when he accidentally fell into the crater.
Police said that they assumed that Fetersen died instantly by the sharp stones inside the 150-meters deep crater. The accident was assumed to be caused by the bad weather that made rim of the crater slippery.
Rescuers spotted the body on the dry crater. They immediately tried to recover the body.
