PASAR Fire Tragedy January 2012

On January 2, 2012 at around 6AM, a fire broke out at the acid plant facility of the Philippine Smelting and Refining Corporation or PASAR. There were 11 fire trucks from PASAR’s own fire fighters, its neigboring fertilizer plant Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corp., and from the towns of Isabel, Merida, Kananga, and Ormoc City fought to control the fire. The fire was declared under control at 9AM.
