While celebrating the Philippine Independence in Riyadh, 67 OFW men were arrested by the Riyadh authorities for imitating women and displaying homosexuality last June 13, 2009. The arrested Filipino workers might face 50-60 lashes and at least 3 months imprisonment.

Some of them were reportedly wearing gowns and wigs and were drunk.

This was confirmed by the Vice President Noli De Castro and the Vice consul of the embassy of the Philippines in Riyadh.
