Globe – Intel Launch WiMAX

The first commercial WiMAX services in the Philippines has been officially launched by the Globe and Intel Philippines. This will be available in areas where there is difficulties in accessing high speed internet access.

WiMAX or Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is said to be more faster and more affordable internet connection products compared to the currently offered internet plans by the Globe Philippines.

Globe’s WiMax service is available in three plans:

  • 795 pesos for 512Kbps data speeds with Internet access only,
  • 995 pesos for 512Kbps plus landline,
  • 1,295 pesos (US$26.9) for 1Mbps plus landline.
