US Liberty Statue’s Crown, Reopened
The Statue of Liberty was closed since the 9/11 attack for the everyone’s security. And in 2004, it was reopened for the visitors but only up to the pedestal at the base of the statue.
So, by July 4, 2009 as the US celebrates its independence the crown of the Statue of Liberty will be opened to randomly selected individual. So, there will be a lottery of names of those who want to climb the 354 steps stair up to the crown.
