Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr and Camp on Lawsuit

Manny Pacquiao finally answered Floyd Mayweather Jr and camp through a lawsuit against them.

Pacquiao was represented by a lawyer Daniel Petrocelli of the Los Angeles-based law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP when filing a civil suit in federal district court in Las Vegas, Nevada, seeking in excess of $75,000 damages for accusing Pacquiao of using the Performance-Enhancing drug while fighting bigger guys like Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto.

Mayweathers’ turn to answer Pacquiao lawsuit

Floyd Mayweather Jr., his father Floyd Sr. and Oscar De La Hoya have 21 days to answer the 12-page civil suit filed by Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday, Dec. 30, before the United States District Court of Nevada in Las Vegas, according to the summons issued by the Clerk of Court.

Court records showed that aside from the three, De La Hoya-owned Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) chief executive officer Richard Schaefer, and Mayweather’s trainer and uncle, Roger Mayweather, are also being summoned.

Both De La Hoya and Schaefer are from Los Angeles, California; Floyd Jr. and Roger Mayweather are based in Las Vegas; while Mayweather Sr. is from Michigan.

Pacquiao files lawsuit

MANNY Pacquiao pushed through with his intention to file a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Jr., his father Mayweather Sr., uncle Roger Mayweather, and Golden Boy Promotions executives Oscar de la Hoya and chief executive Richard Schaefer for making false and defamatory statements accusing him of taking performance-enhancing drugs.

Pacquiao retained top-class lawyer Daniel Petrocelli of the Los Angeles-based law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. He was the same lawyer who won millions of dollars in a wrongful death case filed against OJ Simpson in 1997.

Pacquiao sues Mayweather for doping allegations

Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao has sued Floyd Mayweather, Jr., his father, and some members of the American’s camp ahead of their planned March 13 bout for alleging that he was taking performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).
