ABS-CBN Suspends Wowowee Host, Willie Revillame

Finally, ABS-CBN released order to extend Willie Revillame’s leave up to September 20 this year as the result of the talks between the ABS-CBN and MTRCB regarding the latter’s complaint against the popular host.

Here’s the official statement of the ABS-CBN:

“In the interest of self-regulation, ABS-CBN has availed of the conciliation process under Section 6, Rule 7, of the MTRCB Rules of Procedures, regarding the incidents involving Mr. Willie Revillame in the program Wowowee. After having considered the facts, issues and terms of self-regulation to be imposed in the pertinent cases, the MTRCB has approved the same.

“Whereof, the ABS-CBN shall undertake to perform the following:

“1. Extend Mr. Revillame’s leave until 20 September 2009; and,
“2. Remove the present dance segment of Luningning and Saicy.

“Further, ABS-CBN reiterates that it is fully aware of its legal and moral responsibilities as a broadcaster and shall undertake to continue to uphold the values and customs of the Filipino viewing public.”

My thoughts

I was thinking recently if Willie Revillame is still needed on his popular noontime show, Wowowee. And I found out that according to research, Wowowee remains the number 1 TV show since his indefinite leave up to this time of writing this post.

In other words, Pokwang and other co-hosts of the show are now capable of maintaining the popularity of the show. So, I guess even if Willie Revillame will decide to leave the ABS-CBN after the recent decision made by the company, Wowowee will remain good noontime entertainment.

So, what will Willie Revillame do now?

Well. He’s now rich. And I think, he can still to earn millions from his business aside from hosting the Wowowee.

Is Willie Revillame Suspended from the Wowowee?

While writing this post, I am currently watching Wowowee, specifically Ralph singing “Give me one moment in time”. The show’s fun but it’s not that well when Willie Revillame is with it.

Is Willie Revillame suspended already from the Wowowee because of what he said on Monday during the former president Cory Aquino cortege?

Actually, naaawa ako kay Willie. It might be true that Willie Revillame is arrogant. But what he did last Monday is not a show of disrespectful to Madam Cory Aquino but to the ABS-CBN management. So, if Willie would be suspended it would be because of his show of disrespectful to the management not to the cortege of former President Cory Aquino.

Pero di tayo dapat magalit ay Willie on what happened on Monday but to the management of the ABS-CBN by simultaneously showing both the Wowowee and the Cortege.

Willie Revillame Received P2Million

This afternoon, Willie Revillame revealed in front of the camera through the Wowowee program the gift he received yesterday from anonymous sender.

It was a red a box. And inside of it were three brown envolope. Two of the envelopes had a mark P750 and the other one P500. Which means that the content of the box was P2Million.

Willie was thankful to the sender but he said he did not need money any more. He also said that he consulted his lawyers and decided to share the money to different institutions: Bantay Bata with P500,000, 71 Dreams Foundation with P500,000, and the OFWs in Dubai with P500,000, P150,000 to the conjoined twins named Baby Carsiaga. One of the contestants of the “Willie of Fortune” received P50,000 also which will be used to pay the hospital bill of their baby who was still in the hospital being incubated. And the rest of the money will be given to the Wowowee foundation.

But few people whom I talked with told me that the money was his and was actually part of the gimmick of Willie Revillame especially that he’s promoting his new single, “Munting Hiling”.

But what ever is the truth, we’re thankful for the kindness of Willie Revillame.

Sen Manny Villar Visits Wowowee!

I love Wowowee. It’s already part of my everyday life.

But I don’t like the atmosphere of the Wowowee with the presence of a politician, Senator Manny Villar.

It might be true that Manny Villar promised the 6 OFW contestants of the Willie O’ Fortune of houses and lots that would probably cost haft a million to a million each, but I think it’s just politics. The senator is just using the popular show for his bid for the Presidential election this 2010. It’s like the senator paid the Wowowee with 6 houses and lots just to be featured on the show.

Actually, I consider the act of asking something from the political candidate as a way of financially molesting them. It’s because you were asking favor from him just because he’ll be running for a government office this coming election.

Anyway, giving house and lot to each of the contestant is good work. I just smell something fishy with it.

Richard Gomez in Wowowee!

Today, July 1, 2009, Richard Gomez, the host of the “Family Feud” TV game show of the GMA7, visited Willy Revillame at his program Wowowee!

I wonder what’s the real motive of Richard Gomez but I sensed few things:

Richard Gomez will run for an office in 2010 election. It might be a local office in Ormoc or any National offices.
Richard Gomez just wanted to promote his movie along with Senator Jinggoy Estrada.
Richard Gomez wanted to return to the ABS-CBN.
